While allowing the morning mist of digital data to soften unto my face, I found this...

Is trading investing? Or is it just a game? I definitely want to play that game, but reading on how the game is played, I can see how easily this is just a gambling box. Without real money to lose, you can risk more than you are willing to and maybe win once in awhile. But in real life, when you lose, you can't start again with your starting money for free.

Thinking more along the lines of investing, when we make a switch we are saying more that we are not investing in one thing and we are now in another.... in essence,... re-balancing our portfolio!

Is trading investing? Switching out is not, switching in is. Quite the grey area. I guess it comes down to what was your intention when you first invested in it. And if you had and stick to your exit plan. But as much as you may not want to admit it, if you place trades to make gains, rather than to vote on what you are investing, you are gambling. You can't predict the markets and you can't pick the lows and highs. It's why those who buy and hold because they believe in what they put their money in, usually do better over the long run.
