Acoording to the latest reports published now entertainment giant Sony, the renowned multinational company of Japanese origin, has gradually shown interest in entering the crypto environment. A patent application was recently published by the Japanese company, where the possibility of developing an identity authentication system using the block chain is opened.
As expressed in the patent and sources, Sony would be looking to form a multifactor authentication system (MFA), with the joint work of two different blockchain platforms. The patent application was published on October 26 by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
This multifactor authentication combines two independent credentials: what the user knows, the password; and what the user has, a security token with a unique code for each session, which would be registered in the two blockchain they propose. In this way, even if the password is stolen, hackers will not be able to access the accounts of their clients.
The possible project is at a very early stage to be able to realize long-term perspectives in this regard, however, Sony's intention to apply blockchain in an identity authentication system is something beneficial for cyber security and the cryptographic environment.
