The world is witnessing an upgrade in technology with the discovery of blockchain technology and it is now obvious that online voting in a country’s election is something that is bound to happen any time soon and the time is now.
The availability of blockchain technology now makes it possible for election to be done accurately, securely and transparently online. people can now have faith in the democratic process of their country, have trust in their government and have this good feeling that their vote counts and their voices now matters.

To summarize the above infographic, the voter would download and install the blockchain voting booth on their personal electronic gadgets such as desktop computer, laptop, tablet or even smart phone. From this point the voter would need to submit the appropriate information identity for their identity to be verified by the identity verifier, which would be approved by the country’s organization conducting the election. The identity verifier reviews the voter’s personal information, checks and ensures the voter’s information hasn’t appeared in the system before(so that there won’t be dual registration), determines which ballot type to issue to the voter and finally ensures that each voter is only given one ballot in each election. As soon as voter’s identity is verified, the registrar which takes care of the ballot serves the voter his or her ballot. The voters would then complete and submit their votes to the blockchain-based ballot box. The voter will even have the option of printing a receipt incase proof of vote casting is required.
The voters even have the option of re-casting their vote if they decide to change their mind should the organization conducting the election approve such. When the poll closes, the most current vote submitted by the voter will be considered and taken as the official vote. Each voter would be allowed to audit and check each vote in the ballot box so as to confirm that the total votes reported by the blockchain voting system is accurate without revealing the identity of any particular voter.
