Yesterday I was listening to Bitcoin and blockchain expert Andreas Antonopoulos. In the middle of the talk he said something very profound and why I believe so strongly in the blockchain/ crypto space. Extracted this thoughts were as follows; although the majority of the best programmers in the world are currently taken between multinationals such as Google, Facebook, Amazon etc, these smartest programmers are currently deploying their knowledge and expertise mainly to facilitate menial things such as improving advertising click revenue, product stickability and usage etc - essentially paid to program us to use more and spend more. None of which really assists humanity greatly.
The fundamental KEY to blockchain technology is it is the largest pool (10’s of thousands) of the smartest programmers and thinkers in the world (sometimes those in MNC’s in their spare time) are working on protocols, companies, systems and logic that will replace current systems!
Essentially the current growth of this space is totally reflective of the future change it will have on the world.
In my opinion we should be very excited for 2018 in this space. It will be the year that major companies start embracing the change and start interweaving blockchain into their current platforms and companies. I believe it will be the year where you are not considered ‘fringe’ anymore if you own tokens, rather many will be using them on a daily basis (if they know it or not).
I believe it will be the year of mass adoption. If you think this year 500 billion market cap was the ‘Bubble peak’, you better buckle in. We haven’t hit 1% global adoption yet. When we do and when this goes to 5% or 10% global adoption this will revolutionize the way we live and perhaps evolve our society, monetarily, sociologically and most important politically.
What an exciting time.
