The Good News
Content marketing rakes in conversion rates six times higher than other methods.
MEDIA Protocol is a new blockchain based product that is creating the framework for digital advertisers and publishers to reward consumers directly for their attention.
This article is going to explore MEDIA Protocol through the lens of a fictional company Cat World.
Welcome to Cat World
Cat World is the worlds largest online marketplace for cat-related products including food, toys, clothing, and accessories.
The Cat World brand has slowly been making its way into the content marketing space but has not found the success it hoped for.
They hired a market research firm and found that businesses that blog generate 126% more lead growth than businesses that don't. They also found that 61% of blog readers make a purchase immediately after reading a blog.
The study identified their main issue as well, companies that publish 16 or more content pieces a month get almost 3.5x more traffic than those that only publish 4.
The research team also observed that Cat World was spending a very high amount of its online marketing budget to provide ads to those that will never utilize their service.
Enter MEDIA Protocol
The marketing firm introduced a radical new product to Cat World called MEDIA Protocol. With MEDIA Protocol Cat World can reward their target demographics directly with cryptocurrency which they can then spend in their stores.
MEDIA Protocol will also cut the costs of the marketing campaign by removing the middleman from the equation as almost all of the budget will go directly to consumers.
The marketing team and Cat World begin developing a two-pronged approach to the marketing campaign, both utilizing MEDIA Protocol.
Phase One: Integrating Smart URLs
In order to start the marketing campaign immediately, Cat World begins publishing its blog posts using MEDIA Protocols Smart URL system.
A Smart URL is a URL that links to a smart contract on the Ethereum Network.
The Smart URL allows Cat World to make a URL into its own wallet that stores a specified amount of promotional tokens. These tokens are rewarded when consumers share, read, and like the blog posts.
More importantly, the Smart URL also collects data on the consumers (and rewards them for it). The data will be used to create AI data-driven marketing campaigns in phase 2.
Phase Two: Taking Over The Internet
With Phase One operating Cat World moved on to their second phase which is an in-house designed app that aggregates cat memes and news from around the internet.
This app will create a Smart URL for each piece of content on the app and will reward consumers for engaging.
The app will also allow 3rd party publishers to utilize MEDIA Protocol to include their advertisements and blogs onto the platform. These publishers will pay a small portion to Cat World and the rest will go directly to the consumers.
In addition to publishers, Cat World will curate podcasts, blogs, and vlogs to share on the platform. The Smart URLs for these pieces of content will work to provide a portion of the rewards to the content creators as well as the consumer.
Taking It All In
With MEDIA Protocol Cat World can create a two-wave content marketing campaign that rewards content creators and content consumers.
While engaging with content these consumers will likely end up purchasing products from Cat World.
After the initial cost of designing a new app, the expenses used for the marketing campaign will be drastically lower than paying a 3rd party for the right to advertise on their space.
By creating an app and targeting consumers based on data analytics provided by Smart URLs Cat World will more effectively target potential customers.
How Does The TMT Token Fit In?
The MEDIA Protocol token is the internal currency of the platform and is used to reward consumers and creators. It is also used by publishers to create Smart URLs and is staked inside of smart contracts for rewards distribution.

Being able to reward readers who are engaging in the companies content is a very efficient and quick method for unceasing loyalty but more importantly business retention.
What you said is definitely key to loyalty and retention, what I like about Media Protocol is that won't require any extra steps on the part of the content engager.
