HTC presented a new smartphone that is built to support several blockchain-based services. Exodus as they call it, will come with a built-in wallet that can hold cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and others. The goal is to facilitate users when sending crypto coins to one another.
The news was made public during the NYC Blockchain Conference, where they also stated that the Exodus project will be led by Phil Chen, who has been in charge of the Vive VR-Headset. We are presenting a phone where users can be in charge of their own data and personal info, Chen mentioned.
The Exodus will be the first of it's kind in the smartphone market and HTC said they are still negotiating with potential blockchain partners with their Dapps. Chen also stated that the goal is to present even more key partners in the upcoming months.
One more thing, HTC mentioned that the phone will only be purchasable through crypto payment!
