On April 10, Starcro, a global digital asset developed by KBIDC, has signed MOU for the blockchain commercialization in tourism and medical industry.

Starcro has signed a business agreement with Drama County for the development of the tourism industry, and intends to focus on introducing the blockchain-based payment system to the tourism industry. In the meantime, Drama County is a company that is specialized in construction and operation of tourism business that includes townhouses, lodges, and resorts. The company has become a hot topic for lodges after Wanna One’s visit, the popular K-Pop group, for shooting a TV show.

An official of Drama County said, "In the future, we believe that the blockchain technology is essential for expanding and developing Jeju tourism business including lodges and resort. We will establish convenient payment system, high-security data collection, and management system through the blockchain."

Moreover, Starcro and Mediart signed a business agreement to develop a blockchain-based medical industry. Mediart is a large franchise-type plastic surgery hospital with branches in Busan, Daegu, Jeju Island and Cambodia. With the introduction of a blockchain-based payment system, customers are able to use services smoothly at any branches both in Korea and overseas by sharing payment details.

KBIDC CEO Jung Yong Kim said, "Starcro is a digital asset that anyone can issue, hold, and consume. Public blockchain should not be monopolized, so Starcro is designed not to be monopolized by a few. If anyone in the world can issue an asset, then anyone should be able to consume the asset anywhere. The signing of this business agreement is not only the first step toward commercialization of the blockchain, but also the movement toward changing lifestyle with blockchain.”
