well @nwanne, i strongly feel that blockchain is needed because of the security and reliabilty that it guarantees the user, with blockchain no one can target your data as it doesn't have a physical location, rather they are distributed across so many nodes in the network unlike the centralized cloud storage hosts that every body knows where their data centers are located
