[Series Game 34]
Runeterra is no shortage of brave heroes, but there are few who are as stubborn as Poppy. Bringing along a long double hammer, this determined Yordle spent years searching for "the Hero of Demacia," a legendary warrior who is the commander of the weapon she is holding. .
Legend has it that the hero is the only one who can completely liberate the hammer and bring Demacia to the glory days. Although Poppy has traveled to the most remote parts of the kingdom, her mission has yet to yield any results. Every time she plans to bring a hammer to a potential hero, what happens afterwards is a disaster, and often ends with the death of "the chosen one." Others have long abandoned this task. , but we do not have the courage and determination as our indomitable heroine.
Poppy was a very different Yordle. From the moment of realization, she was looking for a purpose. Away from the noisy Yordle around, she enjoys stability and great works. This favor brought her to the human settlements west of Valoran, where she was amazed to see the endless caravans. Many of them looked ragged and tired, but they still trudged forward to pursue a beautiful life that might be on the other side of the horizon.
One day, another caravan passed by. Unlike before, the people in it seemed to be moving for some purpose. In the morning, they get up at a fixed hour by the prisoner's voice and by the guard. They eat the same hour, and always finish it in just a few minutes. They plugged and moved with amazing speed.
While Yordle uses innate magic to create extraordinary things, these people achieve the same through coordination and discipline. They act as gears in a machine, becoming something bigger and stronger than any single individual can become. With Poppy, this is more magic than any magic in the world.
When Poppy watched the camp from the safe hiding place, she saw the sparkling light coming from the tent. It was the commanding officer of the group, wearing a shining steel armor and perfect. His name is Orlon, and his presence lighted up the fire for everyone. If anyone is discouraged, he is there to remind them of the reason to try. If anyone falls exhausted, he helps them stand up. This prompts Poppy about some of Yordle's spells, though once again, there is no magic.
Poppy sneaks forward to look closer. She found herself following the commander, as if drawn by fate. She looked at Orlon instructing the soldiers to train. He is not big, but he is amazing with amazing flexibility. At night, Poppy eavesdropped on him discussing with the rest of the camp. They are planning to go west to build a permanent settlement.
Poppy's mind was filled with questions. Where will Orlon go? Where are you from? How do you gather a caravan like this, and is there room for a Yordle in it? At that time, she made the most important decision in her life: for the first time, she showed herself in front of people, for the first time, she found herself in a relationship with them.
The meeting was a bit of a surprise, as Orlon posed no more questions to Poppy than she posed for him, but soon became inseparable. He became her mentor, and she became his loyal student. On the training ground, Poppy is an invaluable partner - the only member of the crew not afraid to attack him. She never humbled, she argued about his decisions with childlike innocence, as if she did not know she had to obey her orders absolutely. She accompanied him to a new settlement - an ambitious nation called Demacia, where everyone was welcome, regardless of status or origin, as long as they contributed to the common good.
Orlon is a symbol of the people of the kingdom. Although very few people saw him holding a hammer, he always carried it on his back, and that weapon soon became a cult icon of the developing nation. People are lauding each other that it has the power to level the mountains and split the ground.
Orlon gave Poppy the hammer when he died, along with the hope of a lasting kingdom. Only then did he tell her the story of the birth of this weapon, and how he never actually held it in his hands. He explained to Poppy that the hammer was for the Hero of Demacia - the only one who could hold Demacia. When the friend finally breathed, Poppy swore he would find the hero and put the hammer in his hands.
But despite Poppy's consistency, she lacked confidence, and never realized that she could be the hero Orlon had said.
