Study and issues - new week

in #bloglast month

Hi, guys!

Today is a new day, and I expect to spend it much more productive than the previous one. Yesterday I had to slam on the brakes and spend several hours wearing a mask and earplugs, in maximum sensory deprivation. For people with autism, this is sometimes vital; sensory overload has a very bad effect on our productivity. That’s how it is for me, and when I feel like this world has become too much, I lock myself in my room, put on a dark mask and earplugs and try to relax as much as possible.

I can’t say that my trick yesterday worked well, but it did work, and today I’m a little better, and I feel more energy for work. I canceled today’s workout, I want to spend more time at home and work out, now this is very important for me, because I have caught hyperfixation.

This is another characteristic that people with autism or ADHD have. We can become very fixated on one topic, and everything outside of that topic begins to be perceived solely as an annoying distraction. Is this exactly what happened to me now? and so far I can't figure out how to deal with it because I keep ignoring very important things like walking the dogs just so I can study longer.

Of course, on the one hand this is good, but on the other hand this cannot continue for long, and I still need to find a way out. Should I give myself another week to think it over? and then I’ll try to move on to more active actions, after all, this is a marathon, not a sprint

We all have different tricks of how we get some rest. I usually do the same bit of what you did. I turn off my cellphone and try to sleep with a pillow over my head.

I did know that ADHD keeps you hooked on one thing if it's not completed, not sure about autism. Both need a lot of care though I presume.

Take care of yourself and have a great day ahead 💕

With autism it’s a bit different, but it still makes you to keep stocked to the subject till you know everything about it
