We continue with the coverage of IOT Solutions 2018, the main international IoT conference that brings together experts, influential IoT opinion leaders and technology solution providers. It's time to talk about retail technology.

This technology will change shopping systems in stores thanks to machine learning, computer vision and artificial intelligence.

Retail is changing thanks to technologies such as beacons, smart mirrors, facial recognition, among others, that improve the purchasing process.

Due to retail technologies, stores will be seen as a web page, not as a physical space and artificial intelligence will be part of the daily life of citizens in the next ten years.

Thanks to the IoT solutions, the smart store obtains data in real time that allows you to know the tastes, needs and habits of the consumer and thus predict their behavior.

The customer profile obtained from these data, combined with the analysis of peripheral data, such as the number of products in stock or existing promotions, allows the smart store to configure the best offer for that specific customer, and in that precise moment. A level of personalization never seen before.

During the development of the event, they explained how to buy shoes intelligently, although it seems science fiction is reality and is present in our lives right now!

IoT solutions encompass both those that are almost imperceptible to the consumer, and physical devices, for example the so-called beacons, which are used to receive information on the location and route of customers in the store and send offers to customers, or as interactive mirrors that show the full range of colors and sizes of a garment and can recommend garments that match well with which the customer has chosen, or as digital labels, designed to keep the retailer informed and make possible the operation of the Smart tester and receive analytics from the store.

In short, these IoT solutions allow to know the profile of the buyers that enter the store.

The functionality and effectiveness of the stores will be measured in the way that buyers can have access to technological tools in the purchase process, as well as processes such as clearance, changes and returns.

This interactive experience is supported by the Smart Retail platform of Telefónica IoT that collects customer data in real time in stores and allows the remote management of audio, video and lighting of physical spaces. In addition to the integral functionalities of this platform, Telefónica is addressing international projects.

Finally, we share an interesting video explaining how the future of shopping will be ...
