My uncle Alhaj Mohammad Bakhtiar Kabir was the first son of Shaheed Dr. Zikrul Haque, the elected MP of the 70's during the founding of East Pakistan. The first chairman of Syedpur municipality of independent Bangladesh was elected twice in a row. He founded a lot of construction in Syedpur city.
For example, Syedpur Stadium, Town Hall, Shaheed Dr. Zikrul Haque Municipal Library, Kill Khana, Truck Terminal, Kazi Hat Water Tank, Fish and Meat Market, and many more. He was the Ex-President of Shilpa Sahitya Sangsad and was involve with many other organizations.
The people of Syedpur will be forever grateful to him.
He has received the Guard of Honor as a heroic freedom fighter.
