Apparently Voicemail is Quantum Theory

in #blog6 years ago

I swear there is nothing like checking your voicemail and hearing about something the needs to be built. The problem is when they don't leave a number so I can return their call. If I am not in a service area when the call comes in there is no number, missed call notification, or even notification of a new voicemail.
This I also find frustrating. This is not new technology. Cell service has been around for decades. Voicemail and its predecessor the answering machine, have been around for decades as well. Yet still people will fail to leave a proper message, cell companies fail to adapt to their dead zones, and they still won't push notifications.
We live in an era rampant mediocrity. The winners are not the best but simply the most consistent in their mediocre service. Let me have a scrape mark on a piece of bluestone though and the world just might end. If people can see who they are dealing with in person they demand perfection. If they cannot then they are happy to pay hundreds or even thousands for crappy service.
The saddest thing is people cannot leave a proper voice message. I certainly cannot provide a service to someone I have no idea how to return a call to. It is too bad because I believe in old world service which is rare in today's world. I strive to give my customers the best in everything and I always over build.
