Evening stroll along the Victoria Promenade

in #briard6 years ago (edited)

Laz and I went out a little bit earlier tonight because it has been a very hot day and the apartment with no breeze gets very, very hot and stuffy and does not make for a very happy, hairy dog.

We stopped at the water fountain for Laz to get a drink and have a "little splash and play" and met the sweetest couple Safiya, who is a native Edmontonian but of Indian decent and Octavian who now lives in Edmonton but is from Romania.

So being the ever so nosy me I was asking them a thousand questions and it turns out this lovely "couple" is not actually even an "official couple" but actually on their first date together and I got to crash it!!!

They were such good sports...let me take photos and everything to prove that I am seriously not making this story up that I did go out for an evening stroll with Laz along the Victoria Promenade and did in fact meet real people who quite honestly were very beautiful people and looked very lovely together, but had just met and were on their first date together and yes their names actually are Safiya and Octavian.

I gave them my contact information and told them to let me know how their first date went and made sure they knew my schedule was open and invited myself along if they wanted me to crash another date with them and help them get to know each other a little better cause I am like an FBI profiler when I meet interesting people like them!!!

Then as I was wandering home I realized that Laz had been able to stop for a drink but I was bordering on serious dehydration and so I stopped at Mac's to get a drink and my lovely friend Syed who works there was on shift and is always so concerned with how I am doing and feeling after I nearly gave the man a small stroke when I staggered in one morning and nearly collapsed on his floor with a severe low blood sugar crash.

He was so sweet and so concerned and could see I was really not feeling or doing well and barely holding onto being upright and conscious and he asked me if I wanted to sit down and he would hold my hand so I wouldn't be scared until he could get help to arrive.

It was the first time I guess he had seen anyone in this kind of state but I am pretty good at after all these years and sudden crashes and I assured him I would feel and look much better in a matter of minutes once the glucose I was drinking in the REDBULL he got me hit my system.

And voila within minutes I perked and popped back up and the poor man I think is shaken and scarred forever. Today when I walked in and got a big bottle of Perrier he was concerned that I was not feeling well and needed sugar and just had not realized it didn't have any glucose in it.

I promised him I was just dehydrated and downed the Perrier while he looked on very concerned because he is just so darn sweet. He gave me a thumbs up when he saw I was looking and feeling better then he told me not to put Reid's phone in the side pocket of my backpack or someone would steal it without me even knowing it.

Moved the phone...thanked him for always being so kind and so sweet and Laz and I headed home.

As always it was a lovely evening stroll along the Victoria Promenade.37971844_10156631800552059_63935892485570560_o.jpg37973434_10156631800817059_6463907608473370624_o.jpg38183400_10156631801152059_6853070055383498752_o.jpg
