On November 4 and 5, the developers of the Bitcoin blockchain met in the fourth edition of Scaling Bitcoin, which was held at Stanford University in the United States.
The event addressed issues such as privacy, scalability, fungibility of assets, mining and even smart contracts; but most of the Scaling Bitcoin was devoted to know was focused on the innovations developed to implement not so severe changes in the Bitcoin protocol, which following the trend of Montreal and Hong Kong did not give too much prominence to the companies but to the developers .
Among the developments presented highlights the co-author of the White Paper of the Lightning Network, Tadge Dryja, who presented the initiative "Discreet Log Contracts" (DLC), a system based on intelligent contracts that allows the realization of transactions between two parties that have not established a relationship of trust, and use a discrete intermediary to mediate the transaction.
Therefore, this system allows the discreet operation of the transactions carried out between two parties making use of a chain of blocks. A project that could be carried out could revolutionize private connections.
Another proposal was presented by Nick Szabo, who described how to transmit bitcoin transactions through radio waves, as an alternative to operate the network without connecting to the internet.
Finally highlights Andrew Poelstra, the mathematician of Blockstream, who presented a project to implement "scrips without scrip" -proposed developed for the protocol Mimblewimble, which can be implemented in bitcoin-, using "intelligent cryptography" in the signatures of smart contracts . The proposal basically is to anchor the intelligent contracts to the chain of blocks without incorporating all the code of the intelligent contract.
