The thought of a time machine often comes to mind, especially when you think back on missed opportunities. The Internet has taken the world by storm and connectivity is at an all-time high.

With the internet, social media and sharing platforms soon became very popular. More popular than it could have ever been imagined! Facebook, twitter and youtube see more information shared daily than all the books ever written.
Steemit is the next step in social media. For the first time, there is an economic layer to social media. One of the consequences of this is that people act in a much more civilised manner (usually). This does not detract from the freedom that users have in sharing their thoughts. Youtube and Facebook have taken some questionable steps to censoring their users which could be dangerous over time.

How to convince your friends
There are two types of people I have run into that have given me problems. Sceptics and Unmotivated people...
Sceptics are the most difficult to deal with so I will focus on them today. Try as you might, they will insist it is a scam and refuse to even give the platform a try. I usually try these things.
- A scam requires you to lose money!
Keep asking them; What have you got to lose?
- Prove the rewards.
Once you have earned a decent payout, do not be afraid to spend some of it. Showing sceptical people what you have accomplished helps. Perhaps even take them for lunch with your earnings. Prove the money exists.
- Don't just dump them in.
At this point, even the sceptics will want to at least open an account. This is where your work starts! Steemit can be overwhelming to new users. Sit with them and take the time to explain things to them. If you are new yourself, feel free to speak to the community. It really is quite awesome!

I'm actively recruiting people to steemit because of the opportunities here. I don't believe steemit will be as big as Facebook but definitely a large platform with a lot of potential. From what I have seen, if you're smart you can make a good living from steemit.
I'm not quite the success story yet, emphasis on the YET because I won't stop until I am successful here. As they say "those who succeed have failed more times than most have even tried". Good luck everyone, if you need any help or advice speak to me anytime.
Keep up that perspective. Steemit is perhaps a bit complicated for your average Facebook user, but I do believe it will grow to be quite big!

Yes it's very true Steemit will definitely have a larger fan base than fb or any other, steemit grows every day at a faster rate continuously

I'm so new to Steemit, however your post here amplifies my thoughts and has made me become more aware of what's going on regarding Facebook , Utube etc. and yes Steemit is starting to spread.
