Review on Infinity War (no spoilers!)

in #busy7 years ago

It's been 4 hours since I left the movie theater after watching Infinity War. As a diehard Marvel fan, I expected a lot from this film. Infinity War wasn't up to my expectations. The movie exceeded them or was just different.

(I was able to buy an official poster just for one Euro!! I am happy, it's on my wall now)

First, Infinity War is the definition of epic. The Russo brothers, who directed Captain America: Winter soldier and Civil War, definitely know how to create epic and shoot battles of different scales. A massive fight in Wakanda brings back memories of the battle for Minas Tirith in the 3rd part of Lord of the Rings and it is a huge compliment. It was relatively short but very very good and huge. Also, the Russos reminded us that they were the ones who directed that airport fight in Civil War. They really did an amazing job not only on that massive battle but also on smaller sequences with heroes involved.

Humor was perfect and I mean this. Probably not so many jokes as in Thor: Ragnarök but all of them were funny. I laughed and sometimes very hard at those gags, jokes and cool moments of play-on-words.

Emotions... Guys, the movie is filled with them, unlike any other MCU film. There were moments when everybody just stopped eating popcorn, whispering and no noise came from the audience because of those emotion-filled moments on the screen. There also were moments when everybody cheered or wow'ed. This movie gives you goosebumps, makes you want to cry, hold your breath, be in awe and in despair. This is not just another superhero movie, this is an actual masterpiece.
And then we have Thanos. Man, Josh Brolin outdid himself and probably everyone else (and everyone's else play was amazing, really). Thanos is powerful. He doesn't fool around. With him, we can see that all the heroes are in danger as he wouldn't stop at anything until he reaches his goal. He is a really formidable villain, with motivation, backstory and a plan. Josh Brolin delivers! I am afraid that he can become one of my favorite actors after Deadpool 2.

All in all, the movie is really great. You will definitely love the soundtracks for each character. And by the way, every character will shine and develop. The Russo brothers did their best at playing with us, lying to us through different interviews, videos and even trailers. Do not expect anything to happen just because you saw it in a trailer. Do not think of anything, just go see a film that won't disappoint you at all. And make sure you stay until the very end because the ending is MINDBLOWING. And also, there is ONE post-credit scene, make sure you watch it! After that, I just hope we all live to see Avengers 4 because Infinity War will make you crave it.
