Steem DApp: Dlike Having IEO With Token Sale On IDCM Korea

in #busy5 years ago

Following on the heels of the success of @steemhunt with the IEO on IDCM, another application is following suit.

@dlike is the second Steem based DApp to enter into the IEO market. They will also use the Korean exchange IDCM to host it.

The token sale will take place April 8th through the 14th. There are $45K in bonus tokens available for top buyers who get in early.

Dlike is a DApp that is following the proven model of Reddit and Pinterest. In an effort to become a news and information source, it is rewarding users for posting links to informative articles. Reddit is worth an estimated $3B based upon their different rounds of fundraising and proclaims itself to be "The Front Page of the Internet".

Pinterest took it a step further by declaring itself a visual search engine whereby users post different links and pics, all tagged in way to provide valuable and fun information to people.

The advantage that Dlike has over these two is in the rewarding of users. In Reddit and Pinterest, those centralized entities receive value from the users without paying them. Dlike rewards the users by through upvotes. This results in a payout of both Dlike and STEEM tokens.

Dlike is a very simple platform to use. Anyone who can post a link on Reddit or any other site can utilize Dlike immediately. The learning curve is almost zero which makes it attractive to mainstream users who are accustomed to the centralized applications. The fact that the app is located on a decentralized blockchain has little importance on the use of the platform.

By having the IEO on IDCM Korea, Dlike is going to be a token that has market value. This should enhance the appeal of it. Many newer people to the world of cryptocurrency have a difficult time understanding where the value comes from. Having a token that is traded on an open market shows people what the value is of it and provides an opportunity to truly monetize the user activity.

IDCM Korea put out an announcement earlier today to notifying everyone of the upcoming IEO.

That notification can be found at this link:

I have been using @dlike for a few months. I find it the best way to direct people to news items that they would otherwise miss as they dont usually get an airing in the mainstream media.
This definately sounds like a great way to get more people interested in the real news of the world.
However I am told by some people that in general people on steemit dont like to follow links outside of steemit.
In my experience though it is not the case. I I receive.more upvotes on these posts than on articles that I spend time in producing.
Maybe its because my posts arnt that interesting, but hey they are about my life lol 😎.
Wish I could afford to invest in the new coin. Maybe through steemit i will have the means in future. One step at a time. 😀

Andy. Most of the articles you have posted on Dlink are on the world wide web. I have checked. Your personal posts are incredibly interesting. Look where you live and what you can tell the world about your world. It is all in the delivery. All you need is a well thought out storey, well executed and pictures to boot. People like lots of pictures. If pictures are too hard and a lot of work, pick one passion and stick with that. Find like minded folk and that is your tribe. Could be politics (ugh) or health or building a wall. Whatever. Also you need a constant back and forth flow with your followers. You have lots of followers according to your numbers, but do you really follow them?. Pick 5 or 6 or maybe 10 followers that you constantly engage in. I mean constantly. You have to be consistent. That means that you read their post and comment and upvote and they read yours. Daily or every other day or even twice a week. If they really like it they will resteem. Then you slowly build your audience. I will give you an example. When was the last time you upvoted Edith or Sallybeth or anyone else for that matter?. The reason the DLink has more upvote is mostly automatic votes. Which really means zip, since they have not read it and commented they are just upvoting for a reward at the end. Like anything else..garbage in and garbage out. Pick a passionate subject. You can write. Politics (ugh) trash, world peace, global warming, building a house, growing a tomato, making a stew. Start a contest, comment on a book or show us your village. Show us your shore lines, your rocks, things that grow and stuff that is alive. Make us want to be there. Draw the reader in. You have written numerous fine articles and I for one have watched you grow. However there is not the consistency and you let your good intentioned readers slide. If you want success pick a few good ones. Stick with them and follow them and upvote and comment until the cows come home. If you are tired of writing about Lanzarote write about other stuff you know. You know a lot. Opionins, thoughts, creations. Then write and photo some good stuff and you will notice a difference. Just saying. Signed your biggest supporter and your most loved critic. xx

Thank you as always Marion. I have read and understand all your thoughts.
And as always they are on point and very valid. I try to do what I can with my time on steemit. My own stories have stalled a little at the moment due to time and the need to go out and find new things to post. It is a small island and I have posted about all of the main attractions. Now I need to get out into the not so accessible places off the beaten track. I post news stories in order to keep a presence, and to me it is important that these stories are heard.
Its not just bots that vote them.
Again you have been my most avid suporter along with Lyndsay and now Piotr. As Steemit grows and the value of steem follows suit we have exciting times ahead. So different aproaches maybe needed to keep posts fresh and interesting to attract attention and find new friends. Variety is the spice of life 😁💜

It will be interesting to see if Dlike is as well received as Steem Hunt. They are asking 2.5 c per token compared to Steem Hunts 2 c. Hope they do well even though I see no point in the site. Never was a fan of Pinterest and still baffled by it.

It will be hard to follow up on the success of Steemhunt but it will be interesting to watch. I am not sure the price per token really means much since most people look to invest a certain amount and think of percentage return on the money.

I never used Pinterest either but it is going to IPO with an expected value of $12B. That is a lot of cheddar for a picture and link posting site. They have 250M monthly visitors which is extremely attractive to Wall Street. If Dlike can duplicate even a sliver of that success, we who hold STEEM will be elated.

I had no idea about those sorts of figures and no wonder it could do well. 250 million monthly visitors is massive and you are right, coming second is not something to ignore. Thanks for that as you just peaked my interest a little in Dlike lol.

Here is an article that discusses it.

The company hasn't disclosed what it will price its shares at or how much it wants to raise from the offering, but did say that its shares will be listed on the New York Stock Exchange with the ticker PINS. The latest estimates, based on Pinterest's multiple rounds of funding, put the company's valuation at around $12 billion.

Reddit is a $2B-$3B valuation.

Thanks so much. I am going to read it right now.

Yes it is very easy to use, quick, and a great source of information. I often scan the headlines at a minimum to get an idea of what is going on.

It is a fast track to save your time and write more good articles. ;)

Interesting I have a feeling that IEOs are going to skyrocket prices this year like ICOs did 2 years ago. Plus there should be a little more legitimacy to them.

Like everything else I have a few of the tokens. Hopefully it is a success like @steemhunt as each new site adds a little value to the eco-system. It only takes one to explode to bring the rest with them.

I need to incorporate a way to start using @dlike at least once a week... Inhave not gotten around to it but reading some posts by some users has me interested in the model!

I need to use dlike and have the perfect link I want to post tomorrow to more familiarize myself with the platform.

Has dlike been around as long as steemhunt. I wish them the best of luck it just always make me nervous when people jump on the coat tails of other peoples success.

This sounds like a very promising dApp, thanks for sharing @taskmaster4450.

So if I understand it correctly this adds another way to share original high quality content on Steem posted on another platform, and that you share the link to that content rather than the content itself, and you write a summary of it much like in reddit?
