We got a huge swell the first week of the year this year. It was so big that my friend and I would spend hours not even surfing, just watching the waves. We rolled up to this one spot and hopped on top of his truck camper "roof top deck". I brought my camera to capture the madness.
No wave was under head high. That never happens around here. It was wild to see.
Shooting into the sun gave a cool back light to the spray coming off the waves.
I had a lot of fun watching the surf this day. It was something I won't forget. People were catching some of the biggest waves I've ever seen and also getting some of the longest rides as well.
