Smartphone Photography: Texas Sunset

in #cameraphone6 years ago (edited)

Here are some pictures I took a while back with my now fried (funny story) HTC One M9. Did pretty good for a cameraphone, IMO. Let me know what you think.

Do you use your "smartphone's camera" for a camera or do you use the real thing?
If you have a dedicated camera, which model do you use or prefer?

I have been debating on what kind of camera to get on a budget of around $600-700. Which isn't a whole lot, but I suspect there is something that will work better than my phone for that price.
I know to get a really worthwhile dslr camera with decent lenses will cost at least $2-3k (if I buy used) and this is my plan for the future but at the moment I want to stick within my budget. I have been really considering the Nikon P900 over the D3400 mainly due to the built in lens, but no decision has been made, as of yet. I mostly enjoy taking pictures of birds, animals, plants, and landscapes. If you are an amateur or professional photographer and have any advice or input please let me know.
