Will Germany be Next For Cannabis Market Growth?

in #cannabis3 months ago

Political opposition has been ongoing as we've seen in different regions when there has been a push for legalization. Whether it be private use, growing, selling etc, the commercialization hasn't always been welcomed.

There are various regions around the world that have relaxed their position on cannabis in recent years.

Could Germany be next to see a growing cannabis market?

They might effectively become one more EU state to welcome some cannabis changes.

Those who have pushed for changes in this market have asserted messages calling for legalization for adult cannabis use, saying it could welcome safer use and bring a great economic opportunity as far as businesses and jobs as well.

Medicinal use has been allowed for some time but now legal use for adults is going to change things quite a bit, expanding upon the market for customers and more business opportunity as well.

chokehold on the market?

Still, some critics have said the path to these changes in Germany is peppered with over-regulation of the market, and that they've continued stigmatization of users. But there are many who are hopeful they will see those changes come about. Will this expand on freedom for research in this area just the same? If there are changes to the cannabis industry it doesn't mean they cannot come back later on either and reverse their decision, going in either direction.

It seems voters are still heavily split on the idea of change in the region.

While drinking and smoking might be more socially acceptable for millions in Germany, there are many who still hold reservations about allowing fellow adults to decide for themselves what they might personally ingest if it is a plant product like cannabis.

It was expected that sometime this year they might finally have their plans for a commercial market more ironed out. This is one more market for the cannabis industry that could bring billions of dollars once it is expanded for adult recreational use.
