I got a call last night. Something about Gorilla Glue. I've heard all the rage, but with me, names don't mean a thing unless I've either seen the quality of the grow or have assurance that it is imported. Most local growers never get a strain 'right', be it thanks to poor maintenance, bad flush jobs or no curing just to speed up their profit. These lazy attitudes result in sub-par cannabis boosted with all kinds of artificial bullshit to give bud the appearance of top shelf when it tastes like chlorophyll. This fact of UK cannabis life has left me disenchanted whenever people come at me with 'waaah, i've got this, i've got that'.. Yes, you might.. but was it grown to shift, or was it grown with care? Thankfully, the Gorilla Glue (#4) I picked up last night was the Tarzan and Jane of the Gorilla Glue jungle.. Let's talk about it..
This is in a class of it's own. I thought it was an auto haze cross on first glance but when I busted it open, it's structure is even more complex and it's brimming with crystals. The high feels like a perfect 50/50 balance of sativa/indica and it's very clear headed. It's got a soaring head high, puts you in a bubble; but it's not a heavy load on the brain compared to other strains. More so in the body; but it's overall feeling is one that's going to put you in a good mood for a while. The feeling of it resembles high quality hash in many ways. It's definitely a thinker, prepare for conversations with miss Mary on a deep level with this one. Not really one for the giggles and foolishness this one; more for the big think. It tapers off after about an hour, and leaves you hungry for more.. after munching your face off when the munchies hit (which they will).
I'm still trying to find words for the taste. There's elements of a few things in there. The smell of it burning is instantly shouting indica. Deep musky notes hinting at it's deeply protruding hit. Proper skunky, but some definite sativa pineyness is also in there. Not so much of a citrus, and not so much of a sweet one; more on the musky deep end bordering on some sour notes. A nice change.
It's got a couchlock that creeps in which will have you glued after a while, and you're in for a good lie in the morning after. It's definitely got medicinal value, and it also cured a killer migraine I was suffering with before I tried it. It's not the strongest bud (and this is a pretty solid representation of the strain); but again.. haze head here. To sum it up I'd say it's a connoisseur's smoke; one for the taste notes and overall appreciation of the smoke. It is extremely smokable, and extremely enjoyable. I can see where it's got it's hype from, but I like a stronger one myself. Haze yo.
Peace.
