Mr. Blacky (The Stray) Died; Rest in Peace my Sweet Friend

in #caturday5 years ago (edited)

Even though he died about a month ago, I'm still a bit too sad to write much more about him getting sick and coming to me on his last day to say goodbye. He even let me pick him up for the first time in over six years, and bathe him.

I'll be back.

Rest In Peace Blacky; We'll be Missing You

Sorry to hear about your loss. I remember Blacky from some of your previous Caturday posts. He looked like the male version of Gem. I assume you buried him in your yard. The pet cemetery in your yard just keeps growing.

Thank you @ninjamike for the condolences. Actually, it was you and your much loved Gem who were on my mind mostly with the thoughts of posting here about Blacky; probably the main reason I finally managed to write something about it.

I certainly remember your Gem tributes, and also that you mentioned how much she resembled Blacky.

Yes, he's laying at rest right next to his old girlfriend Natale. After Natale died three years ago or so, Blacky would come into my house crying out and searching for her. He'd come strolling down the hallway, going in and out of every room calling out in a loud baritone-like voice; something he had never done before, or since.

I'll be posting a few pictures of him that I took on his last day, when he came, sat and laid down by me to say goodbye. He looked so helpless and frail, allowing me to clean him with a bath cloth (he had soiled himself) I also want to dress up the grave-site as well before taking and posting those pictures.

Hope all is well with you. I see you're having fun and success with Steem Monsters and am happy for you.

It surprises me how strongly I love and respect the "black cloud ferals" that we care for. I do believe it is my respect for how they struggle to survive.

When You are ready I will read what You write about him. Much love here for the ferals.!!

Until then watch my story of the ferals. It may make you smile.

Thank you for the understanding response @krazzytrukker . Blacky has been around my neighborhood for over ten years, before he became one of my daily visitors about six or seven years ago, so I suspect he was an 'old' guy like me.

I also suspect he once had a people home due to his gentle, yet cautious nature (perhaps an indoor-outdoor pet?) whose people lost or abandoned him.

Yes, Black feral and stray cats do seem to get treated with more disdain due to superstitions. Perhaps this is one reason he got so close to my heart? I'll be posting tributes to him soon.

I wasn't able to connect with Bittube (from your link) on this system, so will check it out from another device, soon.
