Today I was meant to work, but was only there for about 7 minutes. Another staff showed up a minute after I did - apparently there was a scheduling mix-up. When the supervisor offered me the day off I thought about it for a moment... weighing the load of cash with the load of tasks I have on my plate to do before I fly off on a grand adventure on Wednesday... in that moment of consideration my eyes drifted to the wall I was facing where an inspirational poster was framed. I don’t recall it word-for-word, but the quote was something about change and adapting to the unexpected as a way to true success.
That was enough for me to hear my own desires loudly enough: I could have all day to do what I need. What a thought! I gladly jumped at the chance and parted with my colleagues letting them know this option would be best for me and my travel preparations.
And I got so much done! All the things I hadn’t figured out a time for :) well, pretty much. I still have a lot of packing and small tasks I want to do. But I feel a huge relief at having gotten to do so many of them today!
Sometimes the unexpected comes up and blesses you with just what you need. Ah, thank you Life! For your spontaneous, mystical nature. I am so looking forward to embracing this more in these upcoming months of traveling!
