✴️ DO YOU WANT "BIG UPVOTES" FROM DOLPHINS AND WHALES? 🐠🐬🐳

in #charlesfuchs7 years ago

"Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re are absolutly right" ~ Henry Ford.

Whats Up STACKERS!!

This is one of the most talked about subject on "Steemit", "How do I start getting tons of upvotes from Dolphins and Whales?"... (minnows also). 🐠🐬🐳

There are many factors what makes people "upvote" your posts regardless if you have great V.S. bad content.

Too many people think that content is everything but thats not the only reason why, it only plays a small part on this platform.

In any Social Media Platform that your on such as Facebook, Instagram, andSnapchat etc, you need to start "Playing The Game". 🎮

What does this mean? You really have to learn how things work in the "Social" aspect of any platform. Let's talk about Facebook for a minute. So many people spend all day trying to get "Likes" and "Followers" on a daily bases and 90% tend to fail at this. 🙇🏼‍♂️

Facebook has an algorithm, the more you engage with others by liking and commenting, the more of these people will see your posts when you publish.

As you may know, I'm very active on Social Media and tend to get 300-1500 likes a post on Facebook. I let alone generated around "500,000 Likes" last year on the "Evil" Facebook! 🤯

For example, if I posted a picture of a "Hummer" (I own one 🤣) and another person posts the same thing, I would generate 100X more "Likes" than he or she ever will with the same followers. Why is that?

The reason why is because I "Played The Game" on facebook and interact with hundreds of people a day and when I post something, they will see my posts.

So what does this have to do anything with Steemit?

It's a little different on Steemit as there is no algorithm and only a "HOT" feed that lasts about 5 hours if you have enough upvotes.

What should one do to get more upvotes from Dolphins and Whales? I had to learn the hard way when I first Started because I was making pennies in the beginning. I didn't care much as I love "Social Media" and "Cryptocurrencies" and seen Steemit as just another place to post my content. 👨🏼‍💻

However, I wanted to "Play The Game"! What dolphins and whales look for on Steemit can be based on many things depending who they are. 💁🏼‍♂️

What we want to see is that people not only post "Good" Content but what are they doing to help build the Steemit community. Are they "Powering up"?, Are they promoting "Steemit"?, Are they "Active" by upvoting an commenting on others people posts? Are they giving back to people? Are you making their lives better? Are you making it fun here? ... I can list hundreds!

"Powering up with Steem" is one of the most important things to do if you want to start getting more votes from "Dolphins" and "Whales".... Simple as that!

Let me tell you why, if we see you powering up and giving back "upvotes" to the people of the community... we tend to do that back to you because you are helping others grow!

Why would "Dolphins" and "Whales" upvote your posts constantly if we see you powering down every week and upvoting "pennies" to others (milking the system)? To me that is very selfish! 🤦🏼

Don't get me wrong, if you are a "Minnow"... you can work your way up just like everything you do in life. We all did, including myself. When I first started, I "Powered up" everything for the first 6 MONTHS without ever taking any profits! 😳

That's what I had to do to get the attention of the community and became one of the "Top 1000 Steemians" in several months, heck I dominated it... from a minnow to a "Dolphin" in 3 months! 🏆

So guys, if you want to win... follow my philosophy and study all the people who are doing well on this platform... in no time at all, you will win!

So in other words start "Powering Up", it's ok to take some profits here and there but when first starting out, your goal should be between 5,000 - 10,000 Steem Power in 2018! 📆

Hope this info helps many of you out... I know this is a long post, but I wanted to help all the newbies and show them what it takes to become successful on Steemit. Heck, you can use this philosophy in life and it will work the same way. Thanks for reading Steemians! 📚

Have an awesome Sunday and "Keep on STACKIN"! 💞

Good luck everyone

You got this Bossman! Keep on STEEMIN!

Love this!
People don't realize how much it helps just staying powered up. So many people want to just pull all the money out.

You are absolutely right! I have not done much with my post, but I've almost always done power up and now It's repaying me for waiting.

This is absolutely a worth reading!! 😃😚

The truth even is pulling out the money, does them no good profile-wise because investing in steem power, is the real power up here

I started a few days ago and thats exactly what I want to do - powering up for about a year at least!

That’s awesome! I did it for 6 months straight when I first started and my Steemit wallet is now like... 😳😂

With lots of Steampower - you are basically allowed to print money (-__-).

Thanks for the heads up I appreciate it.

You are amazing role model @kaylinart for many people here on Steemit! So funny is that, you are one of the first Steemains I looked up too when I started, we all appreciate you! Alright, enough of kissing your butt! 🤣

You are absolutely right... If i power up 2sbd, how many steem power will i get?

@odesanya, it's is not about how much Steem power you get back, rather, it is about how generously you enpower others to maximize their stay on Steemit.

We shouldn't mix things up.

Thanks @stackin. You made my day.

Right, but it's still more beneficial to get SBD now, since you can use the market to gain even MORE steem. Once the SBD falls below steem, it won't make sense but to 100% power up on every post. Unless you are reliant on Steem for your income.

Reaffirming post! Thanks :-) Just learned what/ how to power up. It has increased the value in my wallet by like triple!

Happy Steeming Friends ❤❤❤❤❤

You are right. I will start powering up now.

Yeah, @kaylinart I have been here a month. And really active in the last 3 weeks with blogging twice a day and commenting. I haven't earned much but the thought about cashing out and powering down has not even crossed my mind. I feel convinced this platform and the people within it are going places. And it's a great investment with powering Up and a great investment in the people here and interacting and connecting with them

What an eye opener. I was much concerned with the content of my posts but least did i know that the more i play the Game the more i get familiarise with the game and the more people recognise me. I thought i had not really earned anything so i can not contribute but now i know that even the little i can give to someone matters. And am on my way to power up in other to be able to contribute more to the community.

That’s the right attitude! 🙌🏼

That's true. You not only have to work hard on your content but your behaviour too.
My philosophy for steem and in general for my life is

Steem with powering up is a marathon but after that every day will be a sprint.

If you will keep powering up, you might not see much results in the recent days so you will have to be patient like a marathon runner but after that, you will get payouts like a Sprinter. Then your hard work and patience will pay off.
I joined just two weeks ago, so I am fully following this approach.

You're right; powering up doesnt only benefit oneself, but the whole community!

My goal from last november was buy / power up to 2,750. Got this one almost done, next target will be 3,K SP!

Too true man! 100% support this message!

Mmm getting to 5000 sp will not be easy, but I'll try :). I fully support your philosophy, I am not as good as you or others, but for many months I have only done power up and supported many people. I removed something last month but only because I had to buy some coins, now I'm holding the SBD hoping that the change returns favorable.

In reality, I’m not good at all when I started. I can’t even write properly lol... but over hundreds of posts from trial on error on here, I got better. I can see that happening to anyone if they keep doing it..

You’ll get there Bossman, just never quit and keep doing what you do, you will eventually win! 💪🏼🙌🏼💯

Yeah, it's true. Just a few days ago I looked at my first posts, they were unwatchable :)... Now they are not so bad, even my English has improved a bit!

It takes a lot of effort, but we can do it! You a killer whale and I a dolphin 👊 ok Bossman?

That's very encouraging @stackin. I have been blogging awhile and I can say you look very seasoned to me in your writing. Your testimony here makes me feel comfortable to pursue some of my friends and get them to jump on board here at Steemit. Although they are not writers per say, I feel confident they can develop over time at a place like Steemit. And people will be supportive of that here as well as patient ! Thanks again. Btw, you sold me... I am a Follower now ;)

Another great article dude!

Thank you Charles for tips! This one luckily i already understood before. Steemit is a social platform and without being social you won't success.

Sometimes i see people with not so little SBD and low SP. Not powering down ... And sometimes i think that they don't even know how and why would they. I convert SBD to STEEM and power up every time i'm on my PC and i have some SBD. Trying to swim like a dolphin ... :D

5k+ SP is my plan for 2018 maybe 10k? Who knows?

Im SUPER new! Whats powering up?

When you make a post, half your rewards are given in STEEM POWER, which gives you ability to give higher upvotes and collect curation rewards on your upvotes.

Consequently, one can buy steem power with bitcoin or litecoin.

Some guys withdraw their steem power, which is short sighted in my opinion.

Oh ok starting to make sense a little! Thanks!

Thank you so much @stackin for this great advice! I really appreciate that you're always helping minnows grow. You're one of the few as what I've said before, again thank you! ♥ :)

Right back at ya @leahlei! You’ve been doing good content, I miss them from time to time but I will put you on my “good list” and will not forget to upvote your post, thanks for being part of this awesome community! 😋

Thank you @stackin I really appreciate it! I am also following you on facebook. :)

I rarely read whole article when it's this long, but this one got me intrigued and every word of it.

I, myself, am a new member of this community (started like 5 days ago) and I have tons of stuff to learn about it, so every advice is useful to me, and your article was really helpful.

When I was writing this, I was like damn this is long as hell 😂. Appreciate the kind words boss! 😎

Of course we all want those big upvotes! And thank you for explaining how powering up works, today I wrote a post on why I love Steemit and it’s people like you friend who make it better! Hugs your way! 💜

You the man Stackin!

🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Thanks for your update on the most important part of getting people to stick with steemit. I found it very hard to begin with, but I try my best every day.

I try to write 4 decent posts every day, but just like everyone else some days it does not work for me, so I reduce my posts, and not my quality.

I have recently managed a few chats with some some friends I made on here, through steemit chat, but it can be awkward requesting a chat through a reply to one of their posts, as most of the time we are not online at the same time, but it does work well when you get to manage a nice chat discussing mutual interests.

I love steemit more and more each day, way to go, just keep loving it.

@stackin I really like this TIP on how to attract the BIG FISH. I Love when I get an UP Vote from a HUGE Fish on STEEMIT that I had No Idea that they existed. I know that there are some INVESTOR FISH on STEEMIT and they do Vote for US even if they do not Create Content. Always be Kind and Live The Golden Rule................

How much is 5,000 to 10,000 STEEM Power in USD? You sound right, because although I've only been on STEEMIT for less than a week, I've posted 41 times and I saw only $2.84 in my Account Wallet. It was free to join but I had to look for good articles like this one to learn how to play the game. Now I know what to do. Time to power up! Thanks @stackin :)

It's funny, Charles, you and I joined Steemit around the same time last year, but I never really put a lot of effort into it beyond simple investigation, and a bit of playing around.

It's great to see how well it's worked out for you, and I'm kind of kicking myself that I didn't use it more over the last 7 months! No point looking backwards though - have already begun shifting my usage patterns the last week or so and am now finding it so damned addictive!

Steem is life :D

What’s up boss, yeah I told my huge following on FB of over 18,000 people 7 months ago, only a few took action but that’s like everything we do in life. Great to see you here man! Steem on!

I "Powered up" everything for the first 6 MONTHS without ever taking any profits!

Been working on this. I want to have more say in the community by powering up. I'm still trying to work my way up. It's not as fast, but I'm definitely moving. :)

You got this boss! 😎

Wow thats so inspirational and so goo post especially for people that are just starting with the platform ! This really motivated me to keep on being active and that why i love this platform, there are a lot of guys like you here ! I agree with you that steem is like real life, you need to earn it, noone will give you anything for free just like that if you dont give back to others :))

Thanks for the comment @vasil-danev! Put in the work now and it will pay off at the end 💪🏼🙌🏼💯

Why would "Dolphins" and "Whales" upvote your posts constantly if we see you powering down every week and upvoting "pennies" to others (milking the system)? To me that is very selfish!

Know what's insane... Some of the originals (arrived in summer of 2016) have way less SP than many of the relatively new playaz in the game. Why? Could it be that they didn't have an aggressive mindset from the start and got lax in their Steem goals?

Now I'm not saying this to point fingers or make anyone feel bad. But there's a lesson to be learned for new comers. Treat Steem as you'd treat a Microsoft stock in the mid-90s or a Google stock in early 2000s.

DO NOT LET THAT STEEM GO! ☺

Well it is funny, I rarely saw someone on hot page with power up. Even if they are minnows with a few followers. I think you need a luck, a lot of luck im hunting moby dick :) and if you look closely, a lot of people started doing real deal when someone big upvoted them and shoot them into the stars. Sure I will try to power up and keep sail in this big sea.

Let’s take this journey together in the shark infested waters lol 🤣

He he. And just look at me now. My comment here is getting more attention than my post with 10 hours+ work. I will write my own post how to success on steemit. Post a million comments daily with some catchy words and introduceyourself with sexy lady pic! I am on it!

That’s funny lol

Is it funny now. I have even a proof. Look at this lady. Fisrt post and kabooooom @travelingsomm congrats to her i guess :) Ha ha ha. Where is your power up now ;)

Did I hear you mention SHARK ??? @stackin

just keep swimming!

Nice, what so many people don't understand is all of these people who have strong voting power either devoted a ton of time or money into steemit to get to where they are today. They just want to see the same effort come out of those who are new and want to become successful with steemit as well.

At what point do you start being a Dolphin lol

Heard it was 5000 tokens to be a dolphin, yeah... many people don’t understand that we all started with 0 and worked our way up. 😬

This post has helped me get a larger perspective upon the steem ecosystem. Reading through the comments was like a giant lightbulb above my head that got brighter and brighter to the tune of powering up!

Wow - I had no idea that Powering up played such a crucial role. I have not powered down a single time... and I won't. I want to HODL til Steemit is in the triple digits. I am using my Steemit account as my Savings account. I actually just won a court settlement for over $25,000 - $50,000 -- CND.. (it's a class action suit I am involved in) - and I am planning on using 10% of that to buy steem when it comes in later this spring. I have been telling everybody I know about steem. I am even going to start teaching classes to people who come to my husband's Bitcoin and CryptoCurrency Meetup groups and who are interested.

I like that idea... the Steemit wallet is like a retirement account! 🤑

Exactly. I'm in a very weird space on this. You might (or could) say I am hedging my bets in both the Crypto Market and Legacy Finance.

I had to resteem this. I think this is one of the more important posts I've read for getting legit upvotes and attention on this platform.

Stay powered up, interact and play the game. I've got my slow and steady plan of adding a few Steem every day.

I love thinking about 5000 to 10000 in 2018. Great goals and targets for anyone to follow.

So simple yet most that read it won't 'get it'. Great stuff as always sir!

You’ll get there! If you stay consistent in 2018, hitting 5000 status is pretty easy! 🙌🏼

Powering up! ⬆️⬆️⬆️

That’s the words every STEEMIANS love to hear 💪🏼🙌🏼💯

This year all my new years resolutions were just petty stuff.
But thx to this post, I actually got a serious now. 5K SP in 2018!

Steemit can be very complicated for us beginners. Thank you for the great advice.

Haha.... I hardly read this long when it aint fictional stories, but this was worth reading

I totally agree with out, about powering up,

To me there is no joy in reaping the community off, without contributing to growth of steemians at least the minnows or newbies

I wish everyone has this mentality

Yeah, I see it all the time minnows complaining not getting upvotes but they have no steem power to it to others 😂

Hi @Stackin,

so the formula is:

Engage + PowerUp * Good Content = Success ??

I would like to know how I can get my posts seen by more people. I have posted a video on here that has been seen by a handful of people; when I posted it on Facebook it was viewed over 12,000 times in just 3 days. I am willing to invest my time in this format as I think it really could be something amazing!

Yeah you have to be consistent and give it some time, didn’t you give FB Years to build your followings... it’s the same here 😀

Absolutely, I have gone from zero followers to over 200 in just over a week. When I look at who is following me it seems that many of them don't appear to be genuine people who are embracing the Steemit format though. I really hope that Steemit succeeds and fulfils its potential.

Your post makes a lot of sense. Kind of funny my New Years resolution is to reach 5k Steem Power by the end of the year. I’m powering up baby!

You have a whole year to get there, anyone can get easy 5000 if they don’t stop 💪🏼🙌🏼💯

I think Steemit is the simple reflection of what a business is like and life situations. Where in order to grow you must collaborate and give to be able to receive nothing without effort, it bears fruit, that is why we must be constant here, contribute to the community, be united, be helping each other, mutually

The romantic side, yes - and then there's the casting couch 😤 Besides the normal business I already saw corruption, begging & prostitution here .. which proofs that #Steemit works 😎 - business as usual!

hmmm.. I wonder which of the whales gave @canditits95 his upvote!?!

..and why do I know her?!?.. and what would my girlfriend say.. and why do I always say what I mean?!? Fuck, I hate it! I'm outta here 😠

I plan to keep on powering up for a long time coming. I haven't taken any amount out of my Steem earnings so far, don't plan to for a long time too. Interacting with others is key, even as a whale it seems. I always pay attention to your posts because you seem excited to interact with smaller minnows and actually reply to comments!

No one wants to comment and engage with someone who never talks with their users...even if they are a whale.

I definitely agree you need to power up here. I use delegated sp since I have no money to invest. As soon as I leased over 500 sp everything got better. I'm going to drop it slowly now since I have over 500 of my own sp now - In Sept when I started leasing I only had 60 of my own after 2 months working hard.

I really needed this post, I had to stay up just to wait for some interesting stuff to read and this is the best information I've seen over the past 7 days on steemit, as a minor I've been quite interactive since I got here about 2 weeks but this powering up is a new and better dimension.

Goal is to have between 5,000 and 10,000 steem power. Roger that boss. Thanks for sharing this, resteeming so fellow minnows will learn this.

your advice is always very accurate and this is not the exception

Absolutely nice! Point taken and will try to practice. Was wondering what happen to my posts for the past 1 whole month 🤣

Oh and you're absolutely right about - oh look at me! And true enough, it's about what I have to give. Power up! Man power up!

Thanks for the info @stackin now I need to learn how to play a game too.

The game is easy, you got this lol

I totally agree with your words.
Everyone should internalize it.

Resteemed!

Simple words with power 😬🤑

I did not know this. Thanks @stackin!

Powerup time 🙌🏼

Thanks for confirming that I am doing it right. I take all my steem dollar and put it into steem power. its slow but I will get there someday

This information of your is really a great help for a newbies like me. I don't really relying on how much income would be given back for my posts .all that matters to me is the freedom and knowledge to be shared with others that I can share. I'm fond of art and music also a traveller and nature -keeper one. This platform makes me feel free. Thank you @stackin

Thank you so much for posting this. I'm a week old here and still learning how all of this works. I've had a ton of fun meeting new people with similar interests and I've learned so much on new topics due to the fact that steemit is all about content and information. It's been a good relief since Facebook can be very petty at times. Like you did when you started out, I'm just making pennies here and there and then I see these posts that get hundreds of dollars. It's very encouraging to hear that you also struggled at the beginning but are now guiding others to achieve the same things as you. Keep up the awesome work!

Games and rules... not my strong points...
:-)
Tell me I can't do it!
;-)
Hand me that funnel and hose ,we will show you how to make a horse drink. ? cool-aid or beer?
Keep up the great work!

Im part of the neverpowereddown club lol! I feel like it definitely helped powering up.. Its better to see people place faith in the system they are using, I know I am more likely to upvote someone who is going to keep the steem power and use it here, not that I notice all the time. Also engagement is important..

The biggest thing that helped me was finding people who were just as new as me, and becoming friends.. The ones who powered up now have more power to vote you with, the ones that don't power up usually stop posting.. Find the people who will be interested in the things you say, and become friends with them. Maybe they will be whales someday

Your definitely right man with this commentary. I also think you do need to engage with those whales/dolphins on a regular basis. I very rarely comment on any larger members but do activitely do everything you recommend, so much of my content recently is geared toward helping and supporting new users and I've never "been noticed" which is fine. I'm making more than enough with my current votes, but most of my engagement and energy is towards new members

I was powering up steem that i got before, but last december i decided to convert my sbd to IDR, just want to feel.. oh yeah, it is real money, i can buy a cup of coffee to my friends, and keep going promo steemit to them, because.. you know, everyone ask me, is it real money? LoL.. thanks @stackin, keep sharing :)
