Inheritance ... or Legacy?
Probably we have ever dreamed that some distant relative leave us an inheritance, a legacy with which to escape poverty, start business and start a new life. Well, I have good news for you: God has an inheritance for you, and what a legacy!
The Word of God says that He has two inheritances for us, not even one: the prudent woman and the children
Proverbs 19:14 New King James Version (NKJV)
Houses and riches are an inheritance from fathers,
But a prudent wife is from the Lord.
Psalm 127:3 New King James Version (NKJV)
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
A wife who knows when to speak and when to shut up is certainly a gift from heaven; it is written that precious gift of man is prudence. For their part, the children are also an inheritance because they will perpetuate our name and extend our legacy. It is good to leave an inheritance, but even better is to leave a legacy. Many want the inheritance without respecting the legacy; the inheritance speaks of what I have, the legacy speaks of what I am.
Sadly, many want what you have but do not want what you are or represent. If you have a wife and children, I congratulate you. You are on the list of those who have acquired "Jehovah's inheritance"; now, once the inheritance is obtained, worry about the legacy, what God represents for you and not only what it can give you. Blessings.
