Encounter with the word of God

The word of God which is the Bible which testifies of God.
Having the Bible and knowing all passages in the Bible does not qualify you to enter heaven. Check the scripture below.
John 5:39-40
39 Ye search the scriptures, because ye think that in them ye have eternal life; and these are they which bear witness of me;40 and ye will not come to me, that ye may have life.

The pastor can preach Jesus, it's only the Holy Spirit that can reveal Jesus.
Jesus is the word of God which brings devine encounter to human.
If you don't have Jesus, the word of God will not have any single impact in your life except for repentance.
The this that the word of God can do for you

1. It will teach you.

2. It corrects you with evidence and experience 2 Timothy 3:16
   Every scripture inspired of God [is] also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness.

3. The encounter with the word of God heals you.

4. The word if God enlightens you
   Psalm 119:105
   Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, And light unto my path.

You can read this scriptures without encountering the word of God.
You can preach without the Holy Spirit in you.
You can relate with Christians very well, behave like them and even answer a Christian but the Holy Spirit may not be close to you.

How to encounter the word of God
1.You must expose yourself first. You must read it, hear it ( buy gospel messages, read scriptures, listen to men of God).

1. Pray so that you'll see and hear.
   Psalm 25:4
   Show me thy ways, O Jehovah; Teach me thy paths.
2. Listen to God
   Psalm 25:5
   Guide me in thy truth, and teach me; For thou art the God of my salvation; For thee do I wait all the day.
