Admittedly, this movie is a bit cheesy, but the story holds up and the martial arts action is top notch. If you're looking for a martial arts film that is very 1990s and you like Van Damme, look no further than this film. It's a good movie to watch on a lazy Sunday.

Lionheart was released in 1990 by Universal, and stars Jean Claude Van Damme. It was during his heyday as a martial artist, and the Muscles from Brussels performs well. This film is rated-R for violence and language. There is some suggestive content as well, but the bulk of the content is action.

Van Damme stars as a French Legionnaire who goes AWOL when his brother is badly injured. Van Damme escapes the desert and comes to Los Angeles by way of fighting for profit. Van Damme easily defeats his foes, and works to do right by his brother's widow. Van Damme is accompanied by a promoter friend who has a way of getting him out of trouble. The movie is full of memorable fights, and if you're a fan of 1990s action and martial arts, this is your film.

If you like Bloodsport and Legionnaire, this is worth watching. It has received mixed reviews, and is a very 1990s martial arts film. This came out at the same time as The Crow, Commando and Only the Strong. Action giants including Van Damme and Arnold, and Stallone ruled the silver screen at this time, and the movie is alot of fun.

Worth a watch. I give it 7.5/10.
