What do you do when you are to be deported from Manhattan to Canada when you have arrogantly ignored the law for quite a long time??
The story opens showing a stubborn book editor, Margaret (Sandra Bullock) and her assistant Andrew (Ryan Reynolds), who is stuck in this job for long three years. "The Witch" - She is referred to in instant messenger of office as she really petrifies her subordinates. She in fact fires the man who has the potential of taking her place and orders Andrew to marry her to avoid deportation . Director Anne Fletcher has successfully screened it as a classic ROM-COM and adding it so much perfectly to family values.
From here starts the little game of blackmailing in form of negotiations and they fly off to Sitka, Alaska to meet Andrews family and convince everyone including a government investigating officer.
A special mention of Sitka, a breathtaking beauty, a waterfront town actually shot in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. And the movie has done justice to the place with awesome cinematography. I shall definitely fly there someday.
There they start faking their relation in front of everyone and some mishaps take place including accidental nudity and falling off the boat which leads them to warming up to each other and towns community spirit just softens this arrogant lady boss from Manhattan skyscrapers.
And, cherry on the top is we watch Betty White as the grandmother of Andrew which just add so much essence to the film.
Overall, you should watch the films today if you want to relax , feel cozy and burst out laughing that too not forced one.
