It was a quiet afternoon when I arrived at my friend's cozy home. The conversation flowed easily, and amid laughter and anecdotes, an invitation arose to try something new: the famous Arabic coffee. I'd never had the opportunity to taste this much-talked-about version of coffee before, so I enthusiastically accepted.
From the first moment, I noticed that the preparation process was a ritual in itself. My friends placed a small metal container over the fire, a special pot known as a "dallah." The aroma began to fill the air, becoming more intense and captivating. A blend of spices perfumed the air, predominantly cardamom, which magically blended with the coffee.
As I poured the drink into delicate cups, the dark liquid promised a completely different experience than the coffee I was used to. Curious, I lifted the cup and prepared for my first sip. I was immediately struck by the explosion of flavors: a balance between the smoothness of the coffee and the exotic touch of cardamom, which gave it a unique depth and character.
This encounter with Arabic coffee opened my palate to a new world. The richness of its flavor and aroma lingered, leaving me with fond memories. It was more than just a drink; it was a connection to a tradition that I promise to explore further. Without a doubt, that afternoon became a sensory experience that I cherish, thanks to the hospitable invitation of my friends.
My husband and I enjoyed this wonderful experience. Thank you, Yori, for an unforgettable afternoon. It's also a pleasure for us to enjoy this wonderful art of coffee with friends. If you look at one of the photos, you can see a variety of coffees, and not to mention enjoying some delicious chestnuts. We couldn't ask for more.
Look forward to more coffee-filled afternoons 😋 ☕
