LONDON : Taking a Drive Down Memory Lane

A bit of foreplay before our guide to Camden Passage comes out :

I stumbled upon this gorgeous collection of toy cars from the 1950s and 60s. I managed to have a lovely chat with the store keeper who was telling me these matchbox toy cars which used to be bought for a couple pence if I'm not mistaken and were a firm favourite amongst little boys of yesteryear. Some of these matchbox car models can fetch thousands of pounds from collectors!

There were so many different models, and colours. One that stands out particularly is the white and red one on the second row from the top, on the far right. This particular model was actually their ambulance model (bit of a crazy design there!), and came with a little battery and by completing the electrical circuit, would turn on the little light on the top of the ambulance. This was cutting edge technology for those days.

While I was taking photos of the cars, a man came along and started saying how he used to have these cars himself and was instantly transported back to his childhood as he told us about his days playing with these toy cars as a child.

Here they are displayed at another shop with their original boxes.

I can't imagine the day I find a Furby at a flea market 50 years from now and reminisce about how I somehow managed to kill it but wasn't sure how.
