Blue is all you can see when you fly over the German channel in Palau, a small island nation somewhere in the Pacific. At some point during the 19th century, Palau was under German possession and the Germans were eager to build a shortcut for their ships to pass through the shallow reef area - this is how the German channel was born. Today, this place is a popular dive site and it is famous for seeing Manta Rays. As you can see on the picture, the channel is still used as a shortcut for boats.
I didn't dive there - just took a 30min Cessna flight over the incredible Rock Islands of Palau and the German Channel. The doors on the right hand side of the plane were taken out so that you can enjoy the views and take good photographs while having your hair styled by the winds. Ironically, the pilot was German (and so am I) - so it was a German pilot flying a German passenger over the German channel... (in an American airplane, though) :)
