What my stubbornness resulted to

in #comedyopenmic9 months ago

Hello good people, it's my first time of posting here and will love to share my story in this community. I got reminded of a bad situation I found myself years back and thought of sharing it with this lovely family.

Going for school runs was the duty of my father, though my primary school was close to his work place, it's easy for him to take us to school and bring us back. My school system usually accept girls to either make their hair or barb it, as for me, my parents choose to barb my hair but not the normal barbing you know, is usually skin. If you rob oil on my hair, it will be shinning from afar. My friends usually laugh at me whenever l barb such hair or make mockery of me, but it wasn't my fault.

One fateful day at school the teachers warned students with bushy hairs to make sure they cut it before coming to school the next day unless they will use scissors to cut their hair by themselves. I was one of those that was warned, when my father came to pick us up after school, I started disturbing him immediately that I want to cut my hair, he gave the response that I should manage the hair, by weekend l will have a clean cut, you know what l mean, skin as usually. The next day was Friday, I couldn't wait till weekend and I didn't want anyone to use scissors on my hair it will be more embarrassing, I thought of a way to solve my problem. Usually every morning my father usually use shaving stick to cut his beards, he never allows it to grow. In my thought, since shaving stick can cut his beards it can surely cut my hair. I went to my father's room searched for the shaving stick and went to a place where nobody will see me as l give myself a clean cut without mirror. Guess where I was, inside toilet.

I was done with my clean cut, the next morning I prepared for school, remember l haven't checked myself on the mirror and nobody spoke to me about my hair. I dressed up, did house chores and ate my food and went to the car to wait for my father. It was when I checked the side mirror, I saw my clean cut, you need to see me. My hair was like rat chopped, some part was low while some part was high. I started crying o. I was begging my father to take me to the salon to complete the cutting. I received long talk and he said l will carry my hair like that since I don't use to hear word. That was how I carried my hair throughout that day and of course my friends laughed at me.
