The daily topic for today is:

What Have You Learned From Older People?

Our Elders can pass much wisdom on to younger people. Let us know what some of that wisdom was. Of course some old people are also a little out there and share interesting (non wisdom) stories so let's here those too.

In case you don't know who I am here is my intro post from way back:

BunnyPuncher Don’t worry your bunnies are “fairly” safe!

Story of an honest Steemian. Honesty in today's world it still exists!!

Good luck yall !

Most regret working too much during their life.

@robhimmself1 ...being workaholic is not a bad thing.. if we enjoy it.

Sebaiknya, semakin bertambah umur kita, semakin kita dekat dengan orangtua kita.

I've spent a lot of time with elderly both via family and through some of my previous employers.

The thing that I have learned over the years from the elderly people that I spent time with is that there really is only one thing that is important in life - the time we spend with our family and loved ones. These elderly people craved the company of the people they love in their final years. It's what kept them going and the smiles I saw on their faces when loved ones visited was one of the most warming things I have ever seen.

I got caught up chasing the almighty dollar for many years and only truly understood how important family and loved ones are when I saw 5 family members and close friends die over a period of 2 years.

Now I am all too aware of how important it is to be with family and friends as much as possible. Life is too short to go chasing something as silly as a few nice items or that next big pay check. Possessions are never as important as the people you love.

For example, at one point (while telling her story), she would be reciting poetry, then she would segue into prose, and in between all of that was the singing she would infuse in her narrations.

Ibu tahu, tidak bisa disamakan antara ditinggal pergi orangtua untuk selamanya, dengan menghadapi perpisahan orangtua. tapi, bagi seorang anak, sama-sama menyakitkan.

I have come to ask your parents for help in the eradication of summer flu in Humbleton. The garbage cans are full of Kleenex wipes. The doctors have run out of cough drops. I do not know what to do

yesssssssssss!!!!! when do i get shortlisted for this ?

A wise older man once told me "Growing old is boring son, so don't"

I have learnt things in form of Parables "The only music a tortoise dance to, is that of a boiling water" which mean a Child should always take precaution in handling or dealing with issues. If that person goes otherwise, it might be too late to correct such mistakes.

"What an old man sees while sitting, a young man cannot see it, if he climbs a tall iroko tree" meaning people should always listen to those with experience when they are being given advice, from through experience one can shape his/her life in the right direction learning from other people's mistake.

They say wisdom is ubiquitous but people still go searching for it. The reply here is so touching, where do you get these thoughts and ideas from?awesome.jpg

Thank you. Got it from the men who have toiled the soil and travel the earth decades before I was born.

@yungcheif , speaking the truth... what an experience man can see , a young cannot!!!
With experience a wise man become more humble. Like a tree 🌳 with fruits 🍎, always bow down!!!
Cheers man for gracious word.

I am 18 years old and my mom (@jaklassen) taught me very much about life and faith. She also taught me how to cook :).

The things that I have learned from my grandmother who told me all the time and now I tell my children: Do not worry too much. I get stressed by everything that I should not have allowed. Being grateful with what you have During my childhood I was angry about the things I did not have, I reproached my mother very much. Try to be a better version of yourself every day. Every day there are opportunities to learn something new, apologize for our mistakes and be better. Leave your ego. It's something I need to work on, since having an ego has not done anything good for me. Follow your passion We only have one life. If you are not following what you love then what are you doing? Why live a life that does not inspire you? Your childhood It matters, but do not let it control your adult life. Do not let the things that happened to you as a child control the rest of your life. Use them to your advantage, learn from them. Follow your dreams. It is never too late or too early to follow your dreams. Stay true to your words. Do not say something unless you're going to comply. Learn to say "no" more often if you are not able to do it. Learn from your relationships. Learn from the good and the bad, but stay authentic. Do not let someone turn you into something you do not want to be.

knowledge, respect, be the example, illusion for what you do

I learnt from older that everything has a value and nothing is valueless

Extend help to all who needs help..Respect all people despite of their status in life and consider and treat them as your brothers and sisters.
Respect be gets respect.
Share your blessings with others.

That life is very different to how it used to be and it will be very different in the future as it is today

I learned from my grandparents that every disappointment in life can be used to jump into great things.

Must save enough money to take care of myself without depending from my sons

My grandfather taught me to live a healthy life, at the age of 95 he wakes up early in the morning walks for half an hour and makes his own breakfast with healthy fruits and organic food. This shows that if you're willing the lifestyle adopted can take you a long way.

Ibu, Ayah, mungkin aku berjalan dengan sangat lambat, tapi yakinlah itu adalah perjuanganku untuk bisa membahagiakan kalian.

Do not like to grumble at parents. Mama is fussy and it definitely makes you annoyed. For sure you love you and want to remind you of the good.

Yet to find my luck.

Sederhana saja keinginanku, melihat kedua orang tuaku sehat selalu.

Be a good wife, Naina. Abah's responsibility is over. Abah can only pray for the best for you and your new family

that the bad moments happen and that the good ones always arrive.

I learned from them to be discipline and honest person, however poor we are we never tried to get things of others.

In every prayer I did not forget I gave a prayer to my parents.
