St. Patrick's Day Contest 3: Art!

in #contest6 years ago

I am still working on choosing a winner for the Limerick contest, but it's time to post a new contest for the week!

Draw, paint, or otherwise illustrate a shamrock!

Don't confuse the shamrock with a "lucky 4-leaf clover," because the three leaves of the shamrock were reportedly used by Saint Patrick to illustrate the theological concept of the Holy Trinity.

This contest will end on Friday, March 9th at 5:00 PM Pacific time. Enter by posting your image below in the comments. If you also post it as a standalone blog post, feel free to include a link in your comment, but you must embed the image as a comment below to qualify! The prize will be 1 SBD.

Unrelated fun facts

Saint Patrick is traditionally associated with blue, not green. Green is the color of Irish independence movements.

Saint Patrick was Welsh, not Irish. He was captured by Irish raiders as a teen and spent his first years in Ireland as a slave.

Despite being associated with partying and alcohol, especially Guinness beer, the origin of St. Patrick's Day as a holy feast day meant that until recently bars were closed.
