The Ultimate Conspiracy

I was out and about within the vastness of my mind to find a topic to write about and then I was surprised, my mind is blank and it's void, and it has nothing of interest inside it. So I gave up on myself and just fired up the internet to read around. I stumbled upon this story depicting an obvious double standard display in our society.

In the age of "supposed" equality and all those ideals, it still seems that the world is far from changing and it looks like that we are still captive by our own prejudices and uninformed judgment.

Let me tell you the story of how I understand it.

A guy went out with a couple of his friends to a bar to drink and to have a good time. They have shared laughter over bottles of beer and some shots. They went out to have some fun and fun it is that they are having.

After a few hours of living the night, they decided to go to another bar and take off. They went out of the door and a guy bumped into another guy and his girlfriend on the way out.

The boyfriend started talking smack and acted all macho in front of his girl. This guy thought he was quite small in stature know his way with words and started talking shit and trash on the boyfriend's face. They continued exchanging hot mess of words but no one was really trying to hit another. That changed all of a sudden when the guy was sucker-punched out of nowhere.

The punch came from the girlfriend who was not really involved in the smack talk. Maybe she didn't like someone talking shit about her guy and she went on with it.

When the guy was punched he was thrown down on the ground and the girlfriend followed him down and continued hitting.

They were all shocked, including the boyfriend, and stood there watching and waiting if anyone else would join the scuffle, fortunately, no one does.

The guy managed to stand up while the girlfriend was hitting her. The girl was on the big side so the guy was having a hard time shaking her off. He gathered his momentum and violently shook the girl away forcing her to lose her balance and fall on the ground face first.

It was a signal to escape the scene and the guy, together with his friends started to walk away. As they were walking away, they were chased by the security of the club and he was grabbed by the shoulder and was told to drop on the ground. He didn't abide and shoved the security while saying "don't touch me". The security was not even out and did not even witness what happened.

Later, the guy was arrested and it all went to court. Even with the long proceedings, the girlfriend who instigated the whole thing was not even mentioned in the trial. In the end, the guy was charged with aggravated assault against the security and was sent to prison.

Thoughts?

Who is in the wrong here? Was the guy really in the wrong, and did he deserve to be sent to jail like that?

I think, even though we would not like to admit it, sex is still a huge factor in this one. Is the gender equality people are pushing for only applicable to women?

What did the security see?

He saw a girl on the ground and some guys trying to flee the scene. At first look, of course, that's pretty easy to infer that the girl was harmed, but was it really easy to conclude that the guys were in the wrong?

Okay, maybe the plot was thin and we can think that the security was just acting out from his best judgment. But one crucial thing about the case? A bystander who was filming out everything was also arrested and charged with obstruction of justice. Now that's a hell of suspicious.

I will leave the unbiased decision to you. Who's on the wrong side of things here?
