Empowering Creative Exploration
There are a lot of incredible projects, apps, initiatives and campaigns happening right now within the Steem Universe. In this post, we're going to highlight just a handful with the hope of getting you connected and introduced to some of Steemit's Premier Community Builders.
Real earnest community building is an exciting thing to watch, and it's happening right now. Steemit is still very much in a clay-like state of existence. There's a tremendous amount to be crafted from it - and everyday - Steemians are working to unpack the complexity of Steem; discovering how it relates to them, their discipline and their real life community.
A big part of the @sndbox incubator revolves around the support of creative and experimental projects. Our team helps connect the dots, brainstorm, and "incubate" new ideas. Steemit isn't all about upvotes, it's about cultivating networks that can empower your craft and advance the lifeline of projects in real life. Below, we've highlighted a few projects being developed by Sndbox fellows. We hope you'll consider supporting them and following along!
A Musician's Guide to Steemit
@musiciansguide (under the wing of @heymattsokol) is currently in the process of raising $2,700 USD for a decentralized, non-profit Steem Marketing project. This Musician's Guide eBook will be a one stop shop for artists to learn more about how to cultivate a following on Steemit while simultaneously empowering their work. The total $2,700 raised will be used to hire an all-star team of Steemit freelancers for the following roles: Project Administrator, Graphic Artist, Cover Artist, Book Designer, Editor. A Phase 2 campaign will take place once the product if finished for promotion and recruitment. Make sure to follow both @musiciansguide and @heymattsokol as the project develops!
Whisper Down the Blockchain
From @mrblinddraw comes a new collaborative art project titled; WHISPER. This telephone-style game involves a chain of artistic interpretations. The composition progresses as the original idea (or "seed") is relayed from one artist to the next. Interpretations can be in the form of any artistic genre (painting, animation, architecture, film, music, photography or dance). Curious to learn more? SteemPoint: A Sculpture Proposal
Meetups and SteemFests have become a hallmark of our dynamic blockchain community. @paolobeneforti has been hard at work manifesting the Steem spirit into physical form. What better than a real place to connect, engage and kick up a conversation? SteemPoint is a sculptural installation designed both as a hotspot for Steemit.com access as well as real-life public furniture. The project will be based in the city of Pistoia (Italy), where Paolo has been speaking with city officials and potential stakeholders. Make sure to take a look at this project and give @paolobeneforti feedback as the project advances into real life!
Your Musical Steem and SBD Report
Have you ever wondered what your Steem and SBD actually sounded like? @playitforward has composed a brilliant interpretation of market movement, using candlesticks as musical notes! Taking it a step further, @playitforward used Steem to hire Ro Rowan (a Los Angeles-based cellist, composer and sound designer) to actually perform the market action through her cello. The result is absolutely breathtaking and a must listen! (Video above.)
Steemit Bootcamp for Underprivileged Kids
@maverickfoo is a one of a kind educator based in Malaysia. Over the last couple weeks, he's been working around the clock hosting a Steemit Bootcamp program for a Youth Entrepreneurship Program by Accenture. Two dozen young Steemians have been learning about entrepreneurship in the age of cryptocurrency and how they can leverage Steemit to become more financially secure. The rigorous program just wrapped up this week! Make sure to take a look at @maverickfoo's work and show him your support.

You have a lot going on this year, it sounds great! I work in PR/marketing consultancy (mainly for ICOs) and was thinking about crowdfunding an advertising campaign for Steemit.. not 100% sure how to go about it though.
I would love to support a musician's guide to Steemit too, as I'm big in to singing and writing music (although not very good!) I could definitely get some really good musicians on the platform, especially if they had a starter guide like this.
I also think that the project supporting Underprivileged kids is very interesting, education in a specific area and empowerment are key to financial success in my opinion.

2018 will be an exciting year for ICO marketing within the Steem community, there's so much to look forward to as SMT's roll out and take shape. On Steemit it always helps to think out loud and do a post - even if it's a brainstorm. Especially with marketing ideas, you can gauge interest and feedback from the masses here / make some mistakes in the front end. Looking forward to learning more about your crowdfunding campaign idea.

I agree, ICO marketing is more and more becoming more about showing what your product can do and how it will make a differnce. Much more exciting than typical digital marketing!
I am slowly working on a post - I studied engineering for two years, so have a big interest in mathematics. I'm doing some analytcis through rate of change of user influx etc. so that I have a lot of data for my post before I do it. Might sit down for a full day next week and flesh out the data!

Music, art, and community building is what the Steemit Music League is about. Had over 60+ Steemians take part in Season One and already 20 in Season Two and its halfway through the first round.
Would love to talk more about community support for it. It includes the #beatbattle , #smlchallenge, and the SML Feedback contest.
Have been hosting them since last summer and it really has grown into an awesome collection of musicians, producers, and others in the music realm.

Hi! I know self promotion is frowned upon but can you help me.. I wonder how can I be included in the incubator process? I have founded 2 expressive groups (theatre & poetry) I went to your website to no avail. Ill be promoting steemit on our local tv and radio station from there Ill start the "Steemit ecosystem for artists". Thank you so much for your answer your one of the first accounts I followed!

Wow, this is really inspiring! I love the concept of teaching young folks how to use steemit...they’re developing content creation and business skills that can be applied anywhere. I do a lot of creative community organizing, and I also raise a lot of money for artists--a big reason I joined steemit is to find new ways of doing both and it looks like you’re doing it! I especially love that you’re using the platform itself in creative ways, it’s great cross-sector work. Followed and can’t wait to see more!
