A tribe in Nigeria, known as Tiv, This tribe is the fourth majority in Nigeria, they are living in four states in Nigeria, Benue, Nasarawa, Jos and Taraba state. The majority of the Time people are living in Benue state, where their leader is Tor Tiv( king of Tiv). The Tiv people are known for Agriculture. It is believed in Nigeria that every Tiv man is a Farmer.
One unique thing that the Tiv people are know for is the level of Hospitality, so much accommodating, to the extent that it is believe by other tribes that , Tiv men offer their wivies to male visitor, that is when a male visitor come to a Tiv man's house, He give the man his wife to sleep with him. But it is not so. Let me use this opportunity to explain to us what really happened. When you visit a Tiv man he believes that a visitor should have the best meal and should have it to his satisfaction, that when you visit them and they cook, they will first of all serve the visitor, till the visitor finished eating before.
others will be given, and the woman is to make sure that you don't lack anything, and at night, the wife of the person you visit, will go and dress the room the visitor is to sleep, and she will keep one of her rapper for you to cover, if at night you are feeling cold, so the next the morning when the visitor well up and possible want to take his bath, the visitor will tire the rapper and sometimes, is the same rapper that the wife is using that the visitor is also using, because of that other tribe , will believe that the visitor sleep with the wife, that is while he is tiring her rapper, and the next day early in the morning the wife of the house will be the first to check on the man and bring water for the visitor to brush his teeth, while she making breakfast for the man, and after making the Breakfast for him, he will go inside the room where the visitor is to serve him, before the husband will even well up from his bed.i sure the next question will be is there no dining, bit is not everyone that has money to level of having dinning, and the next is why must he be given rapper of the wife. They believe it is a sign of respect.
