I’m back with new/old projects

in #crossstitch2 years ago (edited)

Hello everyone, after such long and stressful times, I can show you my working progress on the new projects (they are new for you but old and unfinished for me). Let’s tell you the story from the beginning.
My partner (@lovelyscape) and I decided to move internationally from the UK to Romania (to live with his parents). It was a hard decision to make, but the reasons for moving were more than to live in the UK. So instead of spring cleaning, we were packing boxes and creating more than one pile of items to sell or throw away.

While cleaning my space, where I have all things for all my different types of crafting, I came across many unfinished cross stitch and diamond painting projects. I was amazed at how many of them I couldn’t finish in the past years, and they had been forgotten in the box.

Some of the unfinished projects which I found during unpacking

In the middle of April (shortly before the Easter holidays in the UK), it was time put all boxes and bags into the car and “enjoy” the long way to Romania (nearly 1,370 miles).
It’s already been two weeks since we arrived, and they were in the spirit of unpacking, buying new furniture and looking for a place to put everything.
Now you know all the story, why I was kept away from my projects past few months.

Here, in Romania, we started a new life that is more focused on our hobbies and dreams, which we have.
It means that I have more time to work on my crafting projects. Just for now, I start with these three cross stitch projects: Peacock, Kid with teddy bear and Sunset.

Now

Peacock is the oldest and biggest cross stitch project which I own. It is a picture of a peacock in the garden on 11CT Aida, size 140x60 cm, with 62 colours. I bought it in 2018, and only one year later, I had finished only a small part in the left corner (you can see it in the picture below).

Baby with Teddy bear
This cross stitch I have for my sister and her partner. They have a baby called David. So when I saw the picture with the name David on the project in the shop, I must buy it for them. It is the picture on 14CT Aida, size 34x26 cm, with eight colours.

Sunset

I started this small project in January this year, hoping that I would be able to finish it until we move. Again I was wrong. But it is indeed nearly done. It is on 14CT Aida and has nine colours.
