Why are you in crypto? The greed? The tech? It's not the women for sure!

HODL culture is toxic.

The more time passes, the more we'll see how obvious this statement is. HODLing is not important (it's destructive) for the success of a currency, only the utility is. If people don't use it as currency, how do you think it's going to become one? If everyone had the HODL mentality we would see the prices of crypto soar compared to anything else. In that case crypto is just a collectible.

Do you want to collect secure digital assets or would you rather collect something physical?

HODLing is an unsustainable investment mindset which brings no value to anyone. We need real life use, not currencies stuck on a metal wallet for eternity. That's not how money works.

Money needs to flow, it needs to encourage goods to go from one place to another. All goods need to go from places where they are abundant to places where they are scarce and people need it. Money is the one thing that incentivizes people to transport goods and create economies.

Because money needs to travel with goods, a cryptocurrency is not really a currency if it only stays in your wallet!

The FUD is healthy.

I'm about to coin a brand new acronym - FFUD - fear of fear of uncertainty and doubt... The amount of hate these 3 letters get in this space is a little funny and a little sad because people just don't understand the cause of it.

The cause is the FOMO!

Without irrational investment we would never have the FUD in the first place. A male dominated market is a lot more prone to these illnesses. Guess what's with the state of crypto?

Where are the women?
...
crickets chirping far away

Okay, that was a joke... I'm aware that there are plenty of women in crypto right now, but the ratios still stay very low. We desperately need more intelligent women in this space. Not only investors, but tech enthusiasts... I believe we would see a much more stable market, in a slight upward curve without crazy pumps or dumps.

Focus on what's important - utility.

When we talk about things of importance, I believe the use is the first. Remember, we could use Bitcoin since it's inception! Nowadays, the fees have got in the way, but there are still ways and the Lightning Network is on it's way to become widely used.

When I talk about use, I'm talking about buying anything with crypto, especially if you're buying from a small business. This is what spreads the word, because whoever is trading whatever for crypto with you will suddenly be in the possession of a next gen currency and is instantly incentivized to learn more about it.

Ofcourse we need the tech first, but if you're not a programmer there's little that you can do about it. You can only encourage other people to use the thing. Otherwise, you can learn programming as I am doing right now.

If you're in it for the fundamentals, why are you HODLing or trading?

Your fiat gains will not bring anything to the world. The use of a decentralized digital currency certainly will. In the future, people will thank you for the gesture of spreading your crypto enthusiasm... Because they will all use it in their every day lives... And you are the one who pushed them to become an early adopter.

Innovation over investment and gambling

As I've said, tech comes first. This thing we're all hovering over is only beggining to grow. We cannot think of it's final evolution right now. This stage of crypto development is like the internet without interactive websites, mail or social media! We need to push it to become what we can't even imagine it to be. If you want to make a huge impact in the world, you should jump into crypto innovation!

I believe the best thing to do, other than use of crypto, is building up programming skills. Also, to think deeply about fundamental concepts like PoW and PoS and how we can improve them is of much value.

The best solution I can offer

I'm a permacultural geek, an artist, a designer for all things. My favorite is designing my own life. I would like to design my life so it's independent of fiat currency. I'm also an ethical vegan and I'd like to spread the message of compassion as far as I can. Vegan community is female-dominated and I'm convinced that it will be for the better of both communities if crypto merges with veganism.

Those are just some of the reasons why I'm building eco+, an ecological standard based on the wisdom of the crowd and a platform for a vegan eco community.

The first step is to gather the base community and it will be done here on STEEM. An interface for STEEM exclusive to ethical vegans and ecologically-oriented people.

If you'd like to be a part of it, check out the previous posts about it!

They are listed below by date, from oldest to newest.
