Something I can say about Hive that is to its great advantage. It doesn't just sit there, it works for you when you have it powered up. Short-term risky but long-term it helps you grow your investment in a nice progression.

You mine Hive when you vote for people, not only when they vote for you. Collecting author rewards requires good content which requires time and good effort. Collecting good curation rewards requires a nice amount of Hive powered up. One can get there with money or with patience and work (my case).
