I've been powering down my Steem - what is the best way to exchange it for bitcoin, without blocktrades?

in #crypto4 years ago

Hi, like many others, I have been powering down my Steem in order to never go back - as I just use HIVE now - but just wondering how I exchange Steem now, since blocktrades is not doing it anymore? If you could let me know, that would be great. I have Steem in coinpayments, but they are deinlisting it tomorrow, so trying to move that Steem away to somewhere else.

Sort:

Have started trading some of mine at https://poloniex.com/ . It is now linked from the Transfer option on the STEEM wallet. Of course it is owned and operated by Justin Sun if that bother you. Until recently my HIVE has been traded for XMR on @blocktrades regardless of my thoughts about Dan Nostein. It's only business. 😎

P.S. Have been placing 2500 satoshi orders which seems to spike to that price at least weekly.

Thanks for this - will take a look, below Steem-engine is something am looking at at the moment :) thanks so much for taking the time!

Though I am no Coin Gecko specialist or financial advisor, I think you can use Hive-Engine.com and Steem-Engine.com or the platform Ionomy.
There are many other ways, surely, but those two should work.

Ionomy should be low hassle, but perhaps not the highest liquidity.

This person, @libertycrypto27, crushed it with this post. I hadn't realized you could do this with Hive-Engine and Steem-Engine. There is a 1% deposit and withdrawal fee there though, FYI.

Be well.

Thanks this was useful, just trying to work out how to use Steem engine now, to convert steem - doing some tests! I'm reading through libertycrypto at the moment - Coinpayments is denlisting Steem tomorrow - so just had to transfer what little Steem i had over there, back to Steem - so once I have it sorted will send it to Steem engine and then figure it out - thanks for the information, it was really helpful I was lost - just used to use blocktrades before :)

Sweet. Happy to point you to someone who actually knows what's up with Hive-Engine, etc. Heh.

Preocupante esta situación

Update: Steem-engine.com worked for me - I converted my steem to hive and deposited it here - thanks so much, thanks to @lionsuit below and @libertycrypto27, and everyone that answered and updated my noob-level knowledge with crypto. It worked! Happy now. I just going to move the rest of my steem when I power it down - thanks a lot!

Thank you @lionsuit for the mention.
@theouterlight For the next time you can compare which is the most convenient way between Steem Engine and Hive Engine through a simple spreadsheet.
I explained in this post how to build it: https://peakd.com/hive-174578/@libertycrypto27/steem-to-hive-conversion-how-to-build-a-simple-and-useful-spreadsheet-to-choose-the-most-convenient-method-between-steem-engine
I'm glad I was helpful :)
