NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) is researching of using Ethereum blockchain technology to improve it's learning machines for deep space exploration in the future.
NASA sees potential and is looking to harness its Ethereum blockchain smart contract technology to automate spacecraft. This will allow them to maneuver and evade debris floating in space, so be able to safely reach deep space.
The research project is called "Resilient Networking and Computing Paradigm" and has received a three year funding of $330,000 which will be lead by Dr. Jin Wei Kocsis from University of Akron (UA).
