The TenX Community Has Gone Insane

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago (edited)

TenX was a promising cryptocurrency project that was going to offer a debit card tied to a wallet application, allowing customers to spend their cryptocurrencies using a Visa card.

Fast forward to January 2018 and the TenX project curently has no working cards in the market, no payouts scheme and a community that was once supportive is now going through the five stages of grief (and then some more).

Whilst on Reddit I came across this submission on the TenX subreddit, titled: Nelson Mandela vs 18 yr running away to Hollywood. If you can't be bothered clicking through, here is what it says:

The world holds TenX investors under scrutiny it seems. Some view those of us who think the token structure issue can be solved like an 18 yr old girl who runs away to Hollywood, naively chasing her dream to be a movie star, but who in reality is headed for disaster and is someone who is surely (and will literally get) f_cked.

I choose to view us like Nelson Mandela. We have seen a positive future, we are stubborn in our belief it can happen, we are willing to get f_cked in the short term, but in the end we will emerge with our arms raised and with smiles wide as we step out from the crypto prison we are in, out onto the moon...er...earth where will will flourish and excel forever!!! Go TENX!!!

Yes, someone just compared a fledgling cryptocurrency project being helmed by a politician who is an expert in rhetoric (Dr. Julian Hosp) to Nelson Mandela.

I am familiar with only five stages of grief, but I think the TenX community have just invented a sixth step: disillusionment.

The ironic thing about comparing your own project to Nelson Mandela, is that Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years. He was also on the United States terrorist watchlist until 2008.

There are some dark aspects to Mandela's past including being charged for sabotage in 1964 after a campaign against the country's power grid and, plotting to overthrow the government.

I don't think Nelson Mandela was a terrorist, he was a freedom fighter. I fail to see how TenX and Mandela compare, he went to jail for 18 years for what he believed in.

If TenX is truly even half the person Mandela was, see you in nine years time guys. What is the TenX community willing to do besides cry about dividend payouts that are not coming?

RIP TenX.. 2017 - 2018
