I doubt there is even a single example of someone with 50,000 STEEM that earned it entirely for blogging on steemit in the last 12 months.

Point being - fiat is fiat and doesn't carry any story or history behind it. The amount of STEEM you earn through blogging correlates to the value of the content you've created and shared. This is "Value 2.0" because there is a legacy behind the tokens that yield information about that person that could never be determined by looking at pure dollars and cents.
