The great Bitcoin drop — a few days later.

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago (edited)

Everybody spoke about the great bitcoin drop Friday before Christmas. Often with dramatic charts of the drop.

Of course none of charts started a zero. Not starting a 0 makes charts more dramatic. This effect can of course made more dramatic by only using 24 hour chart.

This is why I like to put things into perspective.

Bitcoin

As you can see: Anybody who bought his Bitcoin in November or earlier was in the plus at all time. And Bitcoin recovered some of the losses already.

Bitcoin 1 Month

Note that even this chart is not starting at $0 but $7'000.

Ether

Ether followed the bitcoin with a slight lag. With Ether everybody who bought before the ≈10. December was in the plus at all time. Ether two recovered.

Ether 1 Month

Note that even this chart is not starting at $0 but $300.

Litecoin

Litecoin followed the same path Bitcoin and Ether — with less ups and downs.

Litecoin 1 Month

Note that the Litecoin chart is the only one which actually starts at $0.

Sort:

This is all just semantics. Bitcoin will keep going up because its open source, peer-to-peer and decentralized AND has the largest market cap. What else can meet those 4 criteria?

You are cheating with that „What else can meet those 4 criteria“ question.

The first three attributes are valid for all three cryptocurrency I have mentioned.

And as for the last one: Only one one can have the „largest market cap“ per definition of the word „largest“ which makes the question pointless.

However, „largest market cap“ is also a volatile attribute. You can lose it to the runner up at any time.

Last not least: Why are you so overly aggressive with your reply? I did not tell you or even suggest to you what to buy. This posting is not about what to buy. If you don't want to buy Ether or Litecoin: Fine.

This posting os a rebuttal of the “Bitcoin fell” scaremonger.

Sorry for the aggressive tone, Im at work and typing my first gut reaction as fast as possible. Its like speed Steem. if you come on here too long the steem vortex sucks your time and the ROI is just not there. quick hits lol Happy New Year!

Apology accepted! And a happy new year to you as well.
