There are many trading platforms for crypto currency. Bittrex is one of the larger platforms and its trading volume one of the highest. There have been many scandals and sure there are many more to come this year.
Bittrex have done what i think many of the platforms with obscure tokens will have to do. They have delisted 82 tokens from their platform from the 30th of March this year. The reason for the delisting is that the coins don't adhere to their "strict coin listing criteria". they say that at least 28 of the tokens have broken blockchains or wallets. the others due to liquidity problems..
I think we all know most of these currencies by their logo's. However, we also know that there are alot of crypto's out there which are just scams produced during the hype to rip people off.
I'm glad Bittrex has taken this decision. Like in the dot com craze there were thousands of platforms that just added ".com" to their name to add value to their company stock. The same has been happening with ICO's.
Here is the "culling" list:The tokens to be delisted are 8BIT, ADC, AM, AMS, APEX, ARB, BITS, BITZ, BLC, BOB, BSTY, BTA, CCN, CRBIT, CRYPT, DAR, DGC, DRACO, DTC, FC2, FRK, FSC2, GEMZ, GHC, GP, GRT, HKG, HYPER, HZ, J, KR, LXC, MAX, MEC, METAL, MND, MTR, MZC, NAUT, NET, NEU, NTRN, OC, ORB, PRIME, PXI, ROOT, SCOT, SCRT, SFR, SLG, SLING, SOON, SPRTS, SSD, STEPS, STV, SWING, TES, TIT, TRI, TRK, U, UFO, UNIQ, UNIT, UNO, UTC, VIOR, VIRAL, VP, WARP, XAUR, XBB, XC, XCO, XDQ, XPY, XQN, XSEED, XTC, and YBC.
To add value tokens must add some value to the platform they are applied to. People aren't going to make the swap from fiat unless the token adds some benefit. If you see your token on this list and you hold them on bittrex then you need to remove them by March 30th..
Let me know what you think of Bittrex's move in the comments..
I agree that this is good, but they should notify people first. They send emails every time you log in but they can't send an email notifying you a token they are holding for you is getting de-listed? I don't know if I'll be able to get rid of my Rise now.
yes they should. its down to market caps or suspicious activity i think. Is "rise" a token?? There are many that are just "pump and dumps" and some out and out rip offs...Crypto has lost two thirds in the last month. i see it going down to under $200b and that will wipe some lower caps out...In my opinion..sorry for delay in answer..i'm new..
Yes its a token, its still around. I ended up selling it on open ledger DEX, I only had a small amount of it.
Did you purchase BTG??
