I have kept my hopes up all this time but right now I honest don't see a way forward for cryptos. Decentralization is not as great as everyone makes it sound. One mistake and you can lose it all. There's no authority that you can approach. That is if you can reach any level of decentralization. We have already seen what went down in Steem Sun saga. On top of that this space is ripe with scams, I don't worry about my money in trading accounts like I do for my crypto accounts.
I did not put in lot of money into crypto, and hopefully I can break even.
It is sort of crazy when you think about it. A week or so ago there was a proposition I think by the markymark to go back to some restrictions of not being able to upvote at the last minute before payout...or something of that nature. One of the reasons was that some people have taken over old accounts but they don't hold the owners key but they build those accounts up to upvote their other accounts. Logically it would seem that if you know the person took over someone else's account then do something about that instead....or how about just plain running a system where people are only allowed one account. Personally one of the biggest failures with these crypto platforms moving into a mainstreaming social media platform type is that everyone here is to busy acting in their own self interest by owning multiple accounts to enrich themselves. Why on earth would they want to engage with others if they can exclusively reward themselves. Until they fix that problem they will never make the kind of money other platforms have been able to achieve nor the notoriety.
I am kind of done with all the drama and complexity. I think I will just move all my crypto money into amzn stock and let it be.
Sad really, another bites the dust. The familiar names I've seen since the beginning here keep slowing eroding away. Whatever you decide good luck.
