Since there are apparently are ankle-high signs around the neighborhood pointing to my house "Cat Lady Lives Here", I was not too excited to see my clowder of cats showing intense interest on one side of my catio, on the side next to the patio.
I figured something was up... So I went out to check and, thankfully, it was a young bird not a kitten, possum, skunk, cane toad or snake... He fixed me with a beady eye, so I gently put the shelter back and fed the cats... they have since lost interest.... lol....
I thought about the cats' curiosity that according to fable "killed the cat" but curiosity, tempered with common sense and a sense of adventure, is actually a good thing...
Without curiosity, we would still be living in caves (maybe) and eating heaven knows what. Man's curiosity has driven all human progress (and some tragic consequences) but without curiosity we would have nothing that we now take for granted!
