Many people and deserted villages try to improve themselves in order to go hand in hand with modernization. Including fixing all aspects to make it happen.

But sometimes the passionate desire often makes them forget their identity. The customary rules that the terms of meaning in life are broken by some rules they make themselves now, in order to achieve self-satisfaction. But in the corners of the earth Indonesia, there are still a handful of people or a group of people who are still very much upheld their customs and ancestors. They are the kasepuhan who stay away from the crowd and friendly with nature. Ciptagelar people who live and behave in accordance with the rules of customs and ancestral customs.

Formerly, the people of Kampung Ciptagelar settled in the Ciptarasa area, then in 2001, all residents who used 16,000 people migrated to the village now called Kampung Ciptagelar. The migration was not solely because of their desire, but the wangsit of the ancestors.

For the people of Kampung Ciptagelar as the descendants of Sunda, having the savings of grain harvest in the rice barn is a very valuable treasure. Yes, rice becomes a thing that is glorified by the people of Kampung Ciptagelar with all forms of treatment. Their rice granary is called leuit, a wooden house. Leuit can bow to 500-1000 bundles of rice. When a baby is born, the baby will be rewarded with leuit, as well as for the person to marry.

These are the very cheap and the customs of the ancestors.

The rice they plant is different from the one traded in the market or supermarket. They take the type of stingray pare gede, rice that only add seasonal results. However, their crops are able to support them for two years. They are self-reliant communities that handle food problems. The people of Kampung Ciptagelar seem to have experienced their crop failures and the leuit is never empty all year long.

The Ciptagelar community's trust is still sustainable with Hinduism and Islam. Traditional ceremonies and rituals are still often held and become part of their beliefs. The rice they planted from the beginning to the harvest season, never separated from custom rules and rituals are always implemented.

  1. Rice planting will be preceded by a safety ceremony with a pilgrimage to an ancestral graveyard, called ngaseuk ritual
  2. One week after the rice ceremony there will be a ritual asking for blessing on the mother (earth), asking for blessing on the ancestor, and the creator for the rice to grow properly, called the pare nyiram ritual
  3. After the rice bags start to wear, the ritual sawenan will be held
  4. When the rice will be cut, the ritual for the ancestor called the mipit pare ritual. The goal is to harvest abundantly
  5. Nganyaran or ngabukti, the next ritual when rice pounded and will be cooked for the first time
  6. Seren Taun, this is the peak of the rituals of the life of rice. This ritual becomes a ritual as a form of homage to the ancestors. In the ritual, the rice of their harvest will be paraded and then taken to the leuit for storage.
